let's bring in brandon hudson. some are calling for arrests. >> the police union and state lawmaker want to welcome the protesters in the video. they are jup set because not only did they show up without a permit, but also to the house where there's many other families. members demand answers in the death of david jones. police shot jones. this cell phone video lasted an hour. but people are still talking about the protest. hours ago state representative martina white said it is shocking to me that police commissioner richard ross allowed this illegal occupation to go on for hours without taking any action. white proposed a bill to e release the names of officers involved in shootings after 30 days or a complete investigation. surveillance video from june shows jones shot in the back after a confrontation. jones had a gun and rode around illegally. yesterday a couple protests fired up the president of the local police union. he said, once you take it to someone's house, they should have been arrested. a protest org

let's get to brandon hudson. what can you tell us so far? >> reporter: we'll take you across the street and you can see police at one of the entrances a couple of them in tactical gear. i want you to know that in the last 15 minutes or so, they just allowed a few of the customers inside the parking lot. let's go live to sky force 10 over the scene this happened some time around 3:30 this afternoon. one woman told us she thought this sounded like a mass shooting and so she was running for cover. she saw children she was trying to protect from the shooter. they have a shooter in custody. let's get to some video of police trying to cut through rush hour traffic. that's a very busy time.

brandon hudson is arriving on the scene. what do you know about this so far? >> reporter: the guy who threw the molotov cocktail is in jail, but there's a large police presence out here. the street is shut down. you can see some officers behind us. if you go a little further down the street, you can see police tape. that's where we believe the incident happened. we can go to sky force 10 and show you video we got an hour ago. you can see what we know at this moment is someone was being served a warrant. the two guys had a molotov cocktail thrown at them. they were burned in the arm. police after about an hour standoff were able to get the guy into. custody. he's now at the police station. we're going to head to the police station now. there's a press conference there at 7:00. we'll give you more information after that. b brandon hudson, nbc 10 news. >>> i'm john clark live in green bay at the eagles team hotel. coming up, hear from corr season wentz and the birds as they get ready for the first preseason game and how much the starters will probably play tomorr

nbc 10's brandon hudson is outside that target with the latest on the search tonight. brandon? >> reporter: the scene is clear and the target parking lot looks different than it did after the shooting. police hope the surveillance cameras can show who did it. this shooting interrupted their shopping trip. hours after the chaos, detectives returned to the target shutdown by a shooting. they checked out this gray car hit by a bullet. on the ground were three hats. potential clues to the people involved. just hours earlier -- >> i heard three or four shots. >> everyone started running in the back. we all ran in the back. >> i grabbed my mom as if she was my baby. >> this little kid wasn't even mine. i was trying to protect her. >> reporter: police and armed s.w.a.t. surrounded the busy target. police cut through rush hour traffic to get to the scene. >> we were concerned about an active shooter. >> i'm still shook. >> a target employee saw a group of men argue and then fight before her shift started. >> this other car pulled up with the car still right up there. got out and whoeve
