and into delaware. this is the area that is going to see the worst of the system because it's a system that will be offshore. the closer you are to the system, the heavier the rain, the stronger the winds, the higher the surf. new jersey and delaware going to see that. wilmington getting light rain. in delaware county and portions of chester county. berks county getting light rainfall. the redding area, not yet in allentown. the entire area is going to get rain out of this one. heaviest rain is still well to the south. you can see it just off the north carolina coast. that's where the center of the storm system that is coming together is. right now the winds are at 40 miles an hour. if it becomes a tropical storm, forecasted it to become one, that's by 2:00 this afternoon, that's when it gets its name, ma irma. we don't have the warnings for any tropical storms, but we will see the wind and the rain and those winds will be strong and the rip currents will be dangerous again today. passes offshore by tom

live shot over wilmington, delaware. we have clouds overhead, but also a mix of clouds and sun in today's forecast. otherwise, it's low 80s, low humidity, great conditions to be outside. across all of our neighborhoods. if we look at our radar and satellite view, you can see that the satellite overlay, the grayish color, has scattered clouds mostly along the southern half of our viewing area. a little less north and west. that's not going to be the same sentence for tomorrow when we start with very rainy conditions throughout the area. delaware for today, we will see those clouds linger. so scattered clouds, to 76 degrees by your lunch hour, and low 80s for high temperatures. the winds, yesterday, they were breezy today, only 5 to 15 miles per hour. in philadelphia, our current temperature is 64 degrees. and we are going to stay right with that mix of clouds and sunshine. at 10:00 a.m., at 72 degrees. by 2:00, 78. low 80s as well by our afternoon hours. how about the shore? it's going to be a great day down at the jersey
