katherine scott is on the scene with the latest details. good morning, katherine. >> reporter: good morning, tam, the two victims were a couple they lived at the apartment together they were found dead late last night. police have since we last spoke wrapped the scene up, the crime scene unit and detectives from the homicide division were here throughout the night gathering evidence. this happened in the first floor apartment 1300 block of federal street in south philadelphia. a 23-year-old woman and her 50-year-old boyfriend were found lying on the floor of separate rooms in the apartment. both were pronounced dead shortly before midnight. there were no signs of forced entry, but police say the place was ransacked. both bodies were bleeding and had facial bruising and something was found around the victims' necks. >> the two people were found by a family member who lives on the second floor apartment. when the family member went downstairs to check on them, they discovered the bodies laying on the floor in separate rooms and called police.
