ktvu crime reporter henry leaf is live where the man head the home on fire and came at officers with gun. >> reporter: still very much an active scene. the day after this officer- involved shooting, a 54-year- old man was shot dead by police. this after officers say he shot into his mobile home, set it on fire and came outside with shotgun. neighbors say he was having marital problem. this is cell phone video of a mobile home going up in flames at the end of a two-hour stand off. livermore police say they had no choice but to shoot a man who started the fire and came outside and brandished a shotgun at them. >> the subject came out the front door, armed with a shotgun. the subject refused to obey commands of the officers, and they were trying to negotiate with him. officers fired on the subject. they immediately rendered first aid but he was pronounced deceased on the scene. >> reporter: it started around 9 wednesday night. neighbors called police saying the man was acting bizarre and challenging people with to fight. when officers arrived, he was armed with a rifle and went inside t

ktvu fox2 news . >>> let's get a check of or weather. it's looking like, depending where you are, a very hot week. >> that's exactly right. if you are franco anyone who lives around the bay proper, you won't notice that much heat. certainly out towards clayton, concorde, livermore valley, and at higher elevations. the fog is underneath that and it will cool the bay. just above for the fox influence above the inversion, it will be pretty hot. that's the we're looking out. that's why the national weather service has issued a weather advisory -- a heat advisory. san francisco will be cool. not mount tam. they one see much cooling from the inland valleys either. so that is the story as we go into the next couple of days. the heat advisory will stay in effect until thursday. temperatures right now, about where they were last night. maybe a degree or two cooler in some places. there is the fog. at the san francisco airport, you can see a contouring up against the mountain. you can see the curvature. that is the high pressure. the fog is trying

we get new details from ktvu's leigh martinez. fire officials also say that fire is about 50% contained. >> reporter: that's right. not so much has changed from this morning. still 50% contained. however, they are feeling very good about the perimeter. it is uc berkeley police which opened up an investigation into whether this fire is arson. however, the determination is going to be coming from cal fire and oakland fire. and so far neither of those two agencies have said where and how this fire has started. by thursday evening the grizzly fire had not much moved since 9:00 p.m. wednesday night. >> the majority of our work now is on the east side of grizzly peak in the contra costa region. that's where we're putting the majority of resources. >> reporter: they say lessons were learned after the oakland hills firestorm that started from a grass fire and grew rapidly claiming 25 lives. when the grizzly peak fire was reported wednesday oakland fire immediately called cal fire for help. >> so they get to ramp up and put people ahead of
