we got josÉ, we got maria. maria now a major category four hurricane that is lashing parts of the leeward islands. we'll start with josÉ which is just off the coast of north carolina. winds right now sustained at 75 miles an hour with this storm and this storm really taking on more characteristics like a nor'easter than a hurricane as it continues to lift to the north over colders waters but still a storm we've got to watch that's churning up the water, pressure 977 millibars moving to the north at 10 miles an hour with wind gusts near the center of the storm over the open waters, nowhere on the east coast will see gusts like this but still around 90 miles an hour. as we track josÉ, it's moving to the north again around 10 so by tomorrow afternoon, 2:00 p.m., still a category one hurricane as it is just off the coast of rehoboth beach and i say just off the coast, i mean it's a couple hundred miles to our east and the cone of uncertainty is mainly over the open waters. again the winds not the major concern. t

jose is still a hurricane, jose is a hurricane i should say, it is about to the southwest of bermuda and 480 miles to the south/ southeast of cape hatteras, north carolina what we have noticed, two noticeable changes with the track of jose. one it is starting to shift to the east and also by the time it reaches our latitude it will be downgraded to a tropical storm. so here's the very late west jose. it is moving north at 6 miles an hour. as we put this into motion here notice tracks from what we aired earlier today, and even last night, it is shifting a little further east and also by the time it reaches our latitude this is more than likely going to be a tropical storm as we get into tuesday afternoon. nonetheless this is something we will be watching, as we go throughout the rest of our weekend. as far as chance of tropical storm wind on its closest path to our region it is a 10 percent chance of finding tropical storm force wind across the jersey shore even into the delaware beaches. we will keep you posted on that. back here at home certainly a great start to the last weekend of

here's where jose is currently. just off the coast line here up of 75 miles per hour, not a very well defined hurricane. more of a tropical cyclone. what that means is we'll see winds along the coast. tropical storm watches and warnings have been dropped in our area but they are still ongoing around the boston region. ocean city a wind advisory. beach ee recognition will be a big issue the next couple days from jose. now, maria obviously the bigger of the two. jose at one point was a category 4 off the coast of the island. jose made its way just to the north of the island. irma hit the northern islands. jose moved to the north of the island and now it got maria moving in toward the central portions of the leeward islands here. this is dominica. this is guadalupe. very, very populated island of guadalupe. upwards of 500,000 people there, and they will take a direct hit tonight. puerto rico in its sights next. puerto rico may see a direct hit, too. some of the latest observations category 4 as of 5:00 with 130 mile an
