mr corbin is pretty much master of all he surveys here in brighton. this conference is almost a victory conference after the general election, even though labour came nowhere near winning the general election, but mr corbin did much better than pretty much everyone expected. significantly increasing labour's share of the vote, except on one issue, and that is brexit. the issue which has divided all parties and has pretty much shaped british politics ever since the referendum. new pressure now on jeremy corbyn to give further ground and to concede two remaining inside the single market. that is hugely contentious because if you stay in the single market, it is argued, you have to stick with freedom of movement and therefore do not have control over immigration. for many labourmps, control over immigration. for many labour mps, particularly representing northern constituencies where there was a big turnout for brexit, they are deeply unhappy about the idea of committing to the single market. against that, there are other labour folk representing predomi
