(anchor) time now to check on our weather... with meterologist lawrence karnow. lawrence karnow: it was a mostly sunny day with warmer temperatures around the bay area. highs were in the 60s and 70s. the fires continue to burn and the it has been breezy at times again today. the winds will begin to turn offshore late on sunday which means warmer and drier air with greater potential for fires spreading. if you're going out tonight dress warmly since it will be cool and breezy. on the satellite picture you can see another storm in the gulf of alaska but it's never going to get here. high pressure will build up out of the south to bring warmer weather tomorrow and mayber record breaking temperatures next week. offshore winds are also likely during that time and fire danger will increase. air quality will begin to suffer a little tomorrow as high pressure builds overhead and the smoke from the fires gets trapped down below. we will find sunny and around much of the state. highs will be in

in san francisco and the mission district, the embarcadero, a high of 78 degrees there with upper 80s in the north bay. with the hot temperatures, the very low humidity, it does make it difficult because it does create such dry conditions for those wildfires and the containment as well. then, as we go through the day, the relative humidity will be only at 17-16% for parts of the north bay around those fires. while the rest of the bay area will have a little bit of recovery during the overnight hours. then we are going to have a shift in the winds tomorrow and that is going to help out significantly. by tomorrow, our winds coming in on shore. we'll also see the return of the marine layer that is going to bring in higher humidity over the next several days. then, we get ready for the front that is going to bring in some rain. that starts to move in late thursday into early friday. we will have a pretty good shot of rain farther to the north. the system does fall apart as it moves through san francisco and areas to the south. it is so good to see at least a chance of rain in the forecast
