, and stay right here in san francisco. sf made really provides wraparound resources for manufacturers that sets us apart from other small business support organizations who provide more generalized support. everything we do has really been developed over time by listening and thinking about what manufacturer needs grow. for example, it would be traditional things like helping them find capital, provide assistance loans, help to provide small business owners with education. we have had some great experience doing what you might call pop ups or temporary selling events, and maybe the most recent example was one that we did as part of sf made week in partnership with the city seas partnership with small business, creating a 100 company selling day right here at city hall, in partnership with mayor lee and the board of supervisors, and it was just a wonderful opportunity for many of our smaller manufacturers who may be one or two-person shop, and who don't have the wherewithal to have their own dedicated retail store to show t

south san francisco seeing a lot of it. san francisco just got a ton of rain coming off the coast. satellite and radar imagery gives you a kind of wider view of what's happening. it's really a lot of the moisture right off of the coast that is being ushered right on into san francisco. so the coast, of course, first in line to face all of this. but overnight tonight, the north bay really got a lot. you know, right now still not letting up. napa almost 2 inches of rain for napa. venado got over 3 inches of rain. so the wider view here on our hi-def doppler now showing you san francisco is getting most of the rain, highway 101, a little calmer for the south bay. but as i push in close, san rafael, mill valley, lagunitas, you're seeing a lot. tiburon is next, as well. same with richmond as the system moves east. san bruno, san mateo, look at the strong amounts of rain coming down right off of interstate 280. so it's going to be slick on all roads. the totals will go up throughout the morning. for the next couple of hours at least, things are not going to wind down. later on this after

so traffic injury has and is a real problem in san francisco with respect to public health. recently we've had approximately 30 people killed each year on our streets and another approximately 500 people hospitalized with severe injuries at our public hospital, zuckerburg san francisco general hospital. we estimated that approximately $35 million in medical costs alone per year and our city surgeons respond to a serious traffic injury approximately every 17 hours. we are working closely with the hospital as a part of vision zero and rebecca plevin, a doctor at the hospital, i invited her to come today to just, again, this is an important issue and to better understand the concerns specifically of the disability community. half of the patients at our trauma center are people injured in traffic collisions and in doing this work and thinking of being here today, from vision zero is fundamentally focused on eliminating traffic deaths and prevention but we also know that many people sustain life-long disabilities in traffic injuries so, again, this is a really important area for

i was born if san francisco. i've live -- i was born in san francisco and a resident of district 9 and employed in the medical cannabis industry. i work for one of the largest distributors in california. i work directly with a number of the people you heard speak here today and number of dispensary services here in the city. i was hired for this position shortly afort passage of the original medical cannabis regulation and safety act in 2015. so i'm living proof that it creates jobs. i don't want to take up too much time. i'm going to echo some of the highlights. i support the 600-foot buffer. a thousand foot buffer has led to the clustering issue. i feel this has been discussed and accepted as fact by this board in the past. i support mr. de la plain's proposal of 51% ownership stake and not allow for out of state interests and permit flipping. also the 50% local hiring requirement is a good goal. possibly something we may need to build up to. on site consumption is important. we need safe places for consumption

no one wants to see anyone unhoused in san francisco. you rent two chapters in the district i represent, sanctuary and next-door shelter. many have heard me tell the story so i won't go into it but on my first night as acting mayor, i actually stayed at next-door shelter to understand the experience of what it was like to go through the reservation system and stay in one of our shelters and experience what unfortunately many san franciscans experience. they also run an amazing employment vocational program one part of our chefs program to prepare many residents to go into the culinary and restaurant industry and i see a lot of supportive finger waves. it provides the food for many of the dinners i attend and has been hired to many of our small businesses in our district particularly in the market. i thought i would share the final story which is they run a senior center and supportive affordable housing in our district and i attend a lot of residents meetings attending hoa meetings, tenant meetings, i try to make sure i go to every build
