ktvu's henry lee reports from the newsroom. there was a previous incident at the courthouse early this morning? >>> reporter: it made for a very unnerving morning at the courthouse near lake merritt. i was inside the building for the ghost ship preliminary hearing and heard all the commotion when the bomb squad was called in for the second time today. streets were blocked off by oakland police after a man left a backpack outside the building at 10 :30 a.m. the 26-year-old man then went inside the courthouse and was confronted by deputies who asked why he left the backpack there. authorities say he got into a struggle with the deputies and attacked them. he was detained and will be placed on a psychiatric hold. now, as for his backpack, the sheriff's office did not want to take any chances. we were overhead in skyfox as the sheriff's bomb squad suited up to inspect the backpack with an x-ray. it turned out not to be an explosive device and the all clear was given at about 12:30. the man doesn't appear to be connected to two fire
