jennifer, i'll start with you. what kind of practical impact is this going to have on the white house? >> we don't know because we don't know whether it's going to be apply to people like jared kushner and ivanka trump. there are two categories generally this could apply to. one are people who wouldn't necessarily be denied a clearance. they are just in a backlog. and we have to figure out what that backlog is and why we have one. the second are people who shouldn't have a clearance. perhaps people like jared kushner who have omitted again and again and again contacts with the russians or financial connections to russia. so it's not enough simply to say that certain people should get clearance or get out of line. it's what is the reason for and why are those people remaining in the administration altogether? now, the president has the ability to especially authorize his son-in-law to have access to extremely classified material, but i think the american people have a right to know why wasn't he granted a clearance
