( lydia ) san jose police believe a 12-year old girl was behind the social media post on twitter. district officials say in the post on twitter she threatened to "shoot up" east san jose elementary schools. this is linda vista elementary school, one of the schools threatened that is part of the alum rock school district here in east san jose. last night at 9:40pm, the san jose police department's violent crimes enforcement team served a search warrant at the girls home in san jose. police did find the girl at her home but did not take her into custody. the investigation is on-going. the school superintendent called the threat offensive because the person responsible commented how they hated the school district and were happy they were from "a more affluent area," followed by a series of expletives. there were no specific schools narrowed out in the tweet, which simply stated that the girl wanted to "shoot up" all of them. an automated call went out to the district's parents wednesday night. although that tweet came fr

department and san jose fire is lls back out here. they were called out to spring special request imt to try to remove two of those victims from that car. they are still there in the car at the scene. this is a very difficult morning for those first responders. the car did go off the roadway before it crashed into a tree near the top of communications hill here in san jose. if you've been up here then you know that these roads are very winding and narrow. i can tell you that the ground was wet and is wet at this point we cannot confirm, though, whether or not that was a factor. at this point investigators are telling us that the driver was likely speeding and speeding very fast. now, two people in the car went to the hospital. we don't know their conditions at this point, but as i mentioned, there are two others that are here on scene. san jose fire is out here right now trying to extricate them and only when this investigation is complete will the coroner be able to come out and remove their bodies. there's going to be a traffic impa

in san jose. we got the live camera out there, 56 degrees, similar conditions as well at 13 miles per hour, and that storm ranger has been working hard, sitting on top of san bruno mountain, and you can see it's tracking a couple of the showers. we're still seeing showers popping up near north san francisco. if i zoom out a little bit to show you where that line is moving, san mateo seeing showers and hayward and oakland area seeing some rain, but the majority of the rain oakland has seen is trekking out towards the east, so, eventually, we'll see that majority of rain moving out towards the east, but look here near san jose, there goes the showers where you are seeing the red and orange hues, we seed moderate to heavy downpours. another thing is that wind advisory. we have that in place until 10:00 p.m. tonight, still expecting gusty conditions pick up, else now for the south bay. we'll see those winds pick up between 20-30 miles per hour, so i'll keep a close eye on another chance of seeing thun

san jose. matt? >> reporter: good morning, reggie and natasha. this is a reality for a lot of people this morning. you're going to be sitting in the dark. let's turn the lights on. show you what's happening here in this neighborhood that's near the west gate mall in san jose and, west san jose. this neighborhood is without power. they have about 700 customers without power and the rain is starting to pick up here as well. of course, it's going to be very dangerous out there as you're driving. look at northbound 280 at northbound 87. the connector ramp there. a police car was in the middle of the lane because of the major flooding. no real backup now. but as traffic picks up, you can expect cars to stack up on northbound 280. speaking of that, this acura suv ended up on the sidewalk and came to rest on a hill in front of the vista park apartments on capitol expressway on vista park drive. a driver started hydroplaning and spun out. a white pickup truck was also involved. both drivers were shaken

san jose did not receive even average rainfall. why? most of these storms moved in from the south and west and the santa cruz mountains kind of stole your moisture, if you will, and the rain shadow effect into the santa clara valley kept you much drier than most locations, but it was a good month of march for rainfall and also mountain snowfall. now we have this ridge of high pressure. not only is it drying us out, the storm track is well to our north, notice the arrows. predominant wind flow is from the north. less of an ocean influence means warmer weather. we're clear tonight. watch out for the offshore breeze in the north bay overnight tonight. we'll be warmer coming up on wednesday with highs into the 80s and we'll stay dry for now with temperatures staying well above average for the foreseeable future. so your extended forecast calling for 70s near the bay through friday, 80s inland through friday. so three more warm days and at the coast we will stay in the 60s and no rain for each of the next seven days and that is your forecast

san jose back down through the mountains. that's where the weather is at its worst and that is where nbc bay area's vianey arana joins us with a look at the rain and the gusty winds we're going to be dealing with today. vianey? >> reporter: no kidding. i know you told me earlier that the models were showing winds of about 40-plus miles an hour on the west slope of the summit and that's what we've seen. we have this sideways rain coming in. you could probably see it with the light smacking me in the face once in a while. that's all right. we are seeing all the commuters. to future cast. i'm going to pop up a couple graphics here and take you through a quick time line of exactly what we're dealing with in terms of the wind. around 5:30 this morning, the next 15 minutes or so look at san jose, 22-mile-per-hour gusts. redwood city and, of course, up near the santa rosa/napa area, now if i fast forward that time line to about 1 :30 a.m. right before your lunch hour we do see a slight decrease. then it starts to pick up in the sout
