this is a look at the fires in northern california. fast the ferguson, the mendocino, and the carr fire. firefighters dealing with dry conditions, strong winds and very hot inland. it's different by the water but these fires are to the north and east. they are sending a lot of parking particles into the sky. the wind direction is from the northwest. so locations north and east of the fires are smokey this morning. by later this afternoon it will be more of a west flow. that means areas east of the fires will be getting more of that smoke. you can't see the smoke out here on this imagery but we'll keep an eye out for that. also have some moisture across the sierra, so they have a little activity there, a little rain coming down near lake tahoe. that's associated with the monsoonal moisture that comes with the ridge of high pressure that's bringing on the heat. here we are at the golden gate bridge, where it's foggy. this is where the smoke is not necessarily going to reach us, and it's also cool. we have the onshore breeze helping clear
