jillian: 1000 survivors of the las vegas massacre are being sued by mgm resorts, a move that is spiking major back lash. joining me to break down the lawsuit is criminal defense attorney david bruno. thank you for joining us this morning. how is this possible? >> this is a federal law. they passed the support antiterrorism by fostering technology act. what it does is encourages private companies to hire security companies that are certified by the department of homeland security. in the law it says if the companies do hire them, the security companies, they will be shielded from lawsuits. that is the basis. they are not seeking damages from the victims. they are seeking court clarification this law protects them from being sued by victims in federal court. jillian: is it worth the public relations nightmare that i assume would spiral from that? >> you can imagine the amount of viability they could have if not shielded. there have been 2500 lawsuits or threatened to file lawsuits and how much money can possibly be owed. is this a public relations nightmare? absolutely. it was in october
