maria: you do? wow. >> the key thing is floss reason why for -- there's no reason why for several years we shouldn't have 4% plus growth. this economy, over 200 years has grown more than 3% a year on average. that's depressions and everything else. so we're due for a period of growth. the fact that the economy is picking up speed, the federal reserve is worried that we may be getting too prosperous. i think larry kudlow, the head of the president's chief economic advisor, is going to be hitting on this, prosperity does not cause inflation. that's a coming battle in later this year and early next year, the fed trying to suppress economic activity. dagen: i was going to point out. i'm not looking at instagram while i have my phone up. the latest forecast from the atlanta fed on growth in the current quarter is 4.3%. so that would be back to back quarters potentially of north of 4% growth. maria: that's for the third quarter they've got that? dagen: yes, the next update is friday, august 24th. but agai

maria: true. it's not the first time that the president was sort of ify on the federal reserve's moves of raising interest rates, that's top story and blasting the federal reserve, the president taking a fed at fed chairman jay powell for raising interest rates too quickly, the president said he's, quote, not thrilled with his own appointee adding this, quote, we are negotiating powerfully and strongly with other nations, we will win but during this period of time i should be given some help by the fed, the other countries are accommodated, the comments rattling the dollar, the dollar looking like this as you can see, lower against most major currencies, jon hilsenrath, your reaction? >> the fed has two mandates really, actually three, so control inflation, keep unemployment as low as possible without causing inflation and keeping long-term interest rates steady, we have 2% inflation rate which is right at the fed's target, tun edge employment is 3.9%, something that the president talks about all
