yeah, just a couple hours ago we caught up with john cox, the republican candidate for governor, at a dmv office. he was meeting with voters trying to make sure he gets that last minute push, that last minute vote out here in his adopted hometown. cox is originally from illinois but moved to san diego county in 2011. he said people across california are struggling and politicians can't seem to fix the biggest problems. >> the people of this state can't afford to live here. they're leaving the state. we've got incredible homelessness on our streets and these politicians just keep raising their money, running their tv and think they'll waltz into office. we've got to change that. >> reporter: so at this point they are monitoring key polling places around the state. it's too early to tell how they are performing, but the candidate for governor from the republican party, john cox, told us a short while ago he's confident he is seeing a very high voter turnout especially here in san diego county and other red counties and he is bouyant tonight. he thinks he's still going to pull this thing out
