for all who travel along the embarcadero. it does represent one of the handful of streets that results in the overwhelming number of collisions and severe injuries, fatalities, in the city of san francisco and the drive behind vision zero is that is not acceptable. so again, excited to report out on some near term improvements that have hit the ground and others that are planned and coming. review the october design showcase, and then talk a bit more about some of the details of our next steps and plans for the larger embarcadero enhancement project. most noticeably we've been out on the street with a lot of paint over the last several weeks, so this slide is a picture of the condition along the southbound embarcadero curb lane between broadway and mission. the way it was striped before, there was a sort of floating bike lane and in the peak periods a third travel lane would open up, presumably, to relieve congestion, but it largely just resulted in uncertainty and ambiguity about how to use the street. and so working with po

this is transportation parking on the embarcadero. we may have to give up more street parking to widen and give access to not just cars but pedestrians and other mobile vehicles and the pedi caps and scooters. i think that using perhaps the sheds in a different way to not necessarily 100% because we want to be more transit first but on the other hand we cannot be totally transit first. not everybody is able to use transportation. you have to have cars. how do we replace street parking to change the way the embarcadero is managed in the long run? where can we put the street parking? some of is necessary. >> if that redesign of the embarcadero happens, how do you get cars from the travel lanes on to the water side of the embarcadero without dealing with that? i think we have a lot of thinking to do if these pier projects displace what is now parking. that is more cars looking for somewhere to go in a congested epironment. >> i think we will let the guru to my left now opine. >> i will start out on page three bullet point 6. department o

even some 70s expected in san francisco from the embarcadero down to ingleside. the marina will be at 69. and it's warm in the north bay. up to 86 in ukiah. 85 in novato. and 79 in mill valley. extended forecast does have temperatures cooling off, at least in san francisco. with some morning fog returning by friday. we're down to 66. but we'll stay with 60s and dry weather as we head into the next seven days. inland valleys, it is above average. the next seven days in the forecast. also no rainfall as we head all the way into next week. we might drop down to 79 but really that's the only cooling we see in this extended forecast. we've had so many questions about rainfall and the long-range outlook. so here's what we think will happen in november. best above rainfall chances go to texas southeast and the northeast. possibly some below average rainfall there for the pacific northwest. so only thing we're seeing for maybe a pattern change might get here by mid november with maybe some rainfall coming back to the bay area. i've got to tell you, though, the forecast m
