( robin ) breaking overnight in the east bay ... suspected n himself inside a home in antioch. police got a domestic dispute call around 8 last night on deerfield road. when an officer arrived, the suspect came out with a weapon and shot the officer. that officer was taken to the hospital, treated for his injuries and released. meanwhile, the suspect baricaded himself in the home, and had at least one family member inside with him. police say 8 to 10 homes in the area were evacuated out of safety concerns. the standoff eventually ended around 2 this morning. ( robin ) it's election day. polls are already open on the east coast and in the central u-s. and there is just under three hours to go

the north bay reaching 71 degrees. ukiah with mill valley only about 61 degrees, and then as we look at our forecast, this shows the wind direction that will still be coming in from the north, so it's bringing in the wildfire smoke and our unhealthy air quality. by saturday the winds come up from are the south as a weak disturbance approaches the coast. we are going to see a change and a shift in our wind direction, and then going into next lookid with our rain anoue of rounds o ing in between thursday and friday, so our rain chances are still looking really good, so some great news as we head toward the end of the forecast. but we're still going to be dry over the next few days, and that offshore wind keeps it warm with highs in the low 70s inland. morning temperatures very chilly, with some upper 30s and low 40s, and san francisco looking at mostly some 60s throughoutg a second overnight closure. >> that's right, kari. the first closure i reported over here hesperian 880 northbound opened the off-ramp, a little fire,

we're starting to say the heavier waves of rain moving through the north bay. it's been rolling in there around ukaia for the past several hours. we're just starting to see it reaching across the delta right now. and then into parts of solano county. so some of the heavier rain now has shifted south of ukaia. and moving over toward santa rosa, as we see the yellows and reds it shows where the rain is coming down heavier near clear lake and middletown as well as windsor and st. elena. we are going to be seeing more activity like this as we go through the day. as we get a closer look, we're seeing the roads that may be wet north of petaluma. and then you head down to novato, and things are looking much better there in terms of the road conditions. into the afternoon, a lot of this rain will kind of break up and become a lot more scattered. there still will be a chance of rain through about 3:30 this afternoon for parts of the peninsula, as well as the east bay, san jose, a couple of light sprinkles. once again, the rain may get going there around the evening comm

we start this time around in the north bay. we have an eye on trouble spot. here's a live shot of the backup. it's a stalled vehicle possibly an accident causing major delays 54 minutes so almost an hour south 101 from petaluma north to kastania. elsewhere, if you are working your way past that heading towards the golden gate bridge, everything is clear. no delays say from 580 as you work your way into san francisco. that's about a 15-minute drive. so easy portion of your marin county commute through there. northbound 101 through highway 92. two lanes shut down. >>> i'm anne makovec at the live news desk. 13 people in ventura county have died in a mass shooting inside a bar. this happened at about 11:20 last night. the bar was packed. it's a country western bar and they were holding a college "country night" so a couple of hundred people were in there. among the 12 people who were shot was a sheriff's deputy. the shooter was dead when police got there. and at this point, those bodies still inside the bar as police try to sort out what happened. they say that
