"today in the bay" pete suratos joining us live from one of the uc ucsf campuses and details on why they are striking. pete? >> reporter: yeah. good morning to you, marcus. in fact, they are starting to do a sound check behind me for the ucsf one-day strike here at the p parnassas campus. this revolves around workplace retaliation. i want to talk about the charges that the union has filed against the uc system. now, the union representing the workers filed unfair labor practice charge alleging illegal conduct by the university. the charge specifically cites unlawful interference by the uc system ranging from workplace retaliation, threats of police citation for picketing. in general, workers are concerned over the outsourcing of jobs and income inequality, something they feel is being silenced by the uc. i want to read a portion of the statement they sent us regarding today's strike. we

vianey has a look at our microclimate forecast. we were talking about how it's like warm this morning. >> yes, warm. we're still tracking a couple of showers but it's not pouring rain so a lot of places aren't even seeing rain. look at san francisco. those clouds that you see on the skyline is the reason why we're in the 40s and 50s to start off and it's not in the 30s. it's great to wake up to not so chilly temperatures but it is a little muggy out there and here's the reason why. we still have some instability out there since the rain initially moved in yesterday. we are definitely expecting to see light showers. good news, it should taper off in time for the afternoon. so by the afternoon, here's san jose temperature. the trend will include a little cloud cover but the temperatures will climb into the mid to upper 60s. notice by 2:00, sun starts poking through. even though we're tracking a couple of showers, things get better. high pressure will warm us up and help us stay clear from the rain. i'll talk about your daytime highs

vianey, thanks. >> a developing story in the east bay. panic and pepper spray abruptly shutting down a popular family amusement center after a fight broke out among a group of teenagers. 8:00 last night at the jungle, several police rushed to the scene to break up a fight that broke out between several teenage males and a young woman. when officers arrived, they found 25 to 30 parents and children outside affected by pepper sprayed that someone sprayed down the melee. several were vomiting or coughing from the fumes. the young people who were fighting all left the area before officers arrived. so no arrests were made. they are now reviewing security camera video. the jungle is expected to reopen as usual later today. >>> new this morning, a hit and run crash leaves a mother and her 6-year-old son dead. oakland police say the mom, the child, and a 20-year-old man were walking in a marked crosswalk at foothill boulevard and 26th avenue when a two-dar door mercedes-benz hit them and drove off. the 30-year-old mom and child were frownsed dead
