we now know officially that that's what governor inslee is going to be doing. colorado governor john hick enlooper announce he had will keep running, even though he is no longer running for president will keep running, even though he is no longer running for president. after people asked him during his presidential run why he wasn't running for senate since there's a vulnerable republican incumbent senator in his home state, he said, no, no, no, wasn't considering it. he would make a terrible senator. as of today, he has officially jumped into the race for u.s. senate in colorado. he will be targeting that vulnerable republican incumbent, cory gardner. what you are seeing is part of the launch video for that senate campaign today. because cory gardner is seen as so beatable in the senate race next year and because colorado is shading to the bluer and bluer side of purple all the time now, john hickenlooper is a highly anticipated contender for the democratic nomination in that race. he is going to jump into a primary where there's a crowded field and a well-fun

there are a lot of other democrats in washington anxiously waiting for inslee's decision. it seems to me he did what a pragmatist does. he dropped out, moved on. no drama, right? >> you're right. the culling was inevitable and i think we'll see a significant amount more of it. the basic decision for most of these candidates is they stopped running when one of two things happens. one, the money dries up and they really can't get the plane in the air anymore or if there is something back home that calls to them in the case of governor inslee the governorship of his own state, the duties he has to tend to in re-election in the case of hickenlooper the opportunity to run for the senate. look, it's going to be more difficult for hickenlooper here. the argument that cory gardner is going to make against him is the same one his democratic primary rivals are going to make which is he couldn't decide what he wanted to run for. as far as the national scene goes him getting out will free up some donors. i know he was getting some pressure, from my sources, getting pressure from donor

joining us now governor jay inslee. >> governor, good to see you. you have criticized and i want to talk about another story, i want to talk about what's going on with iran right now. you criticized how the president dealt with iran including his withdraw from his iran deal on sunday in gibraltar, and add to the sort of mounding things that are happening between the u.s. and iran. what would you do of this ongoing dispute with iran which both sides started ratcheting up. what would you do about something like this? >> we need to remove the source of the conflict and that's donald trump. we had an enforceable agreement with iran and being complied with. we had alliances with all the major sources in the world to insist iran not become a nuclear power. we had a capability of doing that and he basically pulled the rug out from that agreement and to tore it up. this is the source of the tension. this was an unnecessary attention. we see the same movie again. this was an unnecessary problem. >> if he's doing it wrong, tell us what right looks like. >> wh

like jay inslee dropping out, he said his top thing was climate change. that's great for him running for a third term. a governor on the west coast can do tremendous things in terms of climate change policy. with tom steyer i'm not sure when his breakout moment will be or what his backup plan will be, so if he doesn't get the nomination, he can say at least i walked away with x. i'm still trying to solve for x. >> the key is you cannot buy your way into the white house, you have to work really hard at it, and slow and steady wins the rate, i don't see tom steyer as a tortoise. he he can buy a lot of airtime, but cannot buy his ways to the white house. i worked with the last three wincer of iowa. they got there by working the grounds, retail politics, staying under the radar under the iowa caucus came out and then masse a splash. if you're not on the debait teenage, though, it makes it difficult. i would never earn courage someone to get out if you have the momentum. a good healthy debate is for the process. >> what we're looking at bernie sande sanders, w
