joe kennedy/ed markey primary? >> reporter: well, i think we're going to have to see what's going to happen. kennedy isn't in the race yet. someone close to him is telling me that he's going to weigh it over the next few weeks and make a decision. but i think kennedy getting into this senate primary could totally change the landscape of the race and it would make a lot of folks in massachusetts politics and in national democratic politics choose sides. >> it's interesting the question, and you remember it was ted kennedy running for president in 1980 who was tripped up by that roger mud question, why do you want to be president. the question is going to be asked to joe kennedy. he's been in washington for four decades on every sort of critical key litmus test, he's probably in alignment with where the sort of the party regulars are where the party base is. idealogically any clue, any sense what the justification would be for kennedy going after markey? >> well, it's going to have to be a generational argument if he

. >> i went home last night, and i woke up little markeis and said, "baby, we got justice for daddy." >> the defendant is guilty of manslaughter as charged. >> reporter: that verdict coming one year after this argument outside a convenience store in clearwater last summer. in this surveillance footage you can see michael drejka approach a car parked in a handicap spot. markeis mcglockton is inside the store at the time, with his son, while his girlfriend and two small children are waiting in that car. according to police, drejka confronts the girlfriend about parking in the space without a handicap permit. when mcglockton walks outside and sees the argument, you can see him shove drejka away from the car and to the ground. drejka then pulls out a gun. mcglockton pauses and even takes a few steps back, but drejka opens fire shooting him in the chest. that pause was the moment one juror says sealed drejka's fate. >> i think there was a pause between the point where he realized he hit the ground and pulled his weapon, between that and when he fired, and i think that gave him a chance to

senator markey's take on this last night as we highlighted on last night's show is this. it is unconscionable, it's just wrong. we have now reached the most inhumane of all of donald trump's policies. he said, the trump administration is literally deporting kids with cancer. there are few things that are at least at this point unusual or unknown about this story. without more reporting on this, it will take us time to get to the bottom of this. as we are trying to figure out what's going on, it's particularly interesting that this is a policy change that hasn't been announced. which i think ultimately starts to become important in terms of how well the trump administration is coping with what they're trying to do to these kids. they started sending letters to parents whose kids are receiving life saving medical care that they can't get anywhere else, they started sending letters to the parents telling them that they need to get out now. right now. you have 33 days. yes, we know your kid is receiving ongoing life saving medical treatment. we don't care. stop the treatment

night we learned that a jury in clearwater, florida, convicted michael draker for the shooting death of markeis magloton. last year he shot the unarmed magloton after an argument in a gas station parking lot claiming that he feared for his life. drako invoked florida's stand your ground law in his defense. immediately those that were on his side said they just did this because al sharpton and attorney ben crump and activists came down to florida and put pressure on. same this week, we saw the police commissioner in new york terminate the one officer of mr. pan tailo who was responsible for the chokehold that killed eric garner. first of all, if the jury convict convicted draker and if this judge said that this policeman in new york should've been terminated, then the activist including yours truly should write this should go to trial. we didn't say what the outcome would be. we said that it needed to be tried. it's a shame the system does not operate fairly without people raising issues. due process should be available to everyone and they shouldn't have to protest in order to get a fair day in
