at the san francis court here tomorrow as 1:30 p.m. live in san francisco,t th midday. the prosecution will not seek the death penalty for theng an 18-year-old woman at a b.a.r.t. station. bob redell is live outside of superior court where he just spoke to the family of nia wilson. >> reporter: the father is not surprised the district attorney is not seeking the death penalty against john lee cowl. you recall he is charged with the stabbing death of 18-year-old nia wilson at the macarthur b.a.r.t. station in late july of 2018. wilson's father anticipated this decision since gavin newsom did order a moratorium on the death penalty and the father said he would be satisfied if he is convicted and sent to life in prison without the possibility of rar pole. you recall the defense tried and failed to argue he was not competent to stand trial but no ruling about his state at the tif murder. that mental illness changes over time was the defense argument. this morning the prosecution used that argument to push for an earlier date for the trial.

today they held a roundtable at francis scott key elementary and that's where we find our sam brock. sam, what's the plan? >> reporter: part of the plan is definitely money. the state is pouring in almost $3 billion into affordable housing and homelessness. francis scott key, as it were, is also a key part of any sort of pathway moving forward. around the corner there is an annex owned by sf unified. it's slated for 130 housing units just for educators. as soon as it's zoned for it. today a serious look at san francisco's housing crunch. >> but when it comes to the issue of affordability, the cost of housing in this state, it is a crisis. >> reporter: taking center stage in an elementary classroom. a firefighter talk about winning a city lottery to get help to buy his new home. >> there's no way i would have been able to save enough for a down payment. the amount that you need to just compete in this market is just astronomical. >> reporter: and governor gavin newsom listened to how some teachers are making ends meet. >> what percentage of your income do you spend on housing? >> it's

francis or any touch point in the city? because i think creating a citywide cultural sensitivity is understanding our population and getting as much data as possible. i guess my last question is what is your intended increase in percentages of data? do you think when you get more of a data, these percentages will change? >> those are great questions. there's some controversy about whether it's demographic data or whether it's clinical data, but the field is shifting to making it demographic data. one, it normalizes it, and two it really increases the volume in which you collect compared to if you make it a clinical work flow. so to answer the first question, it's a front office work flow. now, we have a schedule star workforce, and they're the people that are going to be collecting and entering this. your second question about maybe comparing to other systems around the city -- >> as much as we can because the entire city, except for the catholic systems, are on epic. >> that's great. i don't think we've thought about that,
