they say what happens in the buckeye state can sort of be a preview of coming attractions for the rest of the nation. for two key counties in ohio a decision on a last minute opioid settlement could have national implications. we go to grady trimble right now in cleveland where all of this stands. hey, grady. reporter: hey, neil. a trial was actually supposed to start in the courtroom behind me today but it ended up in a settlement at the very last minute, we're told all parties involved talk until the early morning this morning. that is when they reached a deal. the parties involved are the three big pharmaceutical distributors in the united states as well as the drugmaker teva pharmaceuticals. the amount is for $260 million. we're told a large pores of that will be paid out almost immediately to two ohio counties >> using this money for treatment, getting people into programs and assisting first-responders as they deal with this crisis. again, summit counties, they are just typical examples of what these drugs have done throughout this country. reporter: a trial is not off the table.
