my view is that we are blessed to have both bernie and elizabeth warren running this time. together they have defined the issues that have dominated the conversation in the democratic primaries, and they widened the left lane of american politics. it's also lovely to watch the two of them in the way they have each other's backs. that's what i was writing about, we can expect that to continue, and we can hope that continues for some time to come. it's true that only one of them can win in new hampshire, the neighboring state to each of them. and only one of them is going to win the iowa caucuses. and i think when we get closer to those points, the beginning of the year, people will have to decide which of them they prefer. but i think there are plenty of people, particularly among progressives who think both are fabulous. host: explain widening the left lane, how have they been able to do that? what do they accomplish by being on the same page? back tof you think 2016, when bernie sanders would stand up and say it's a disgrace that america is the only industrialized country
