i've had the honor to live in various parts of san francisco. whether it was waiting for the 44 in the dark over in mission, are not knowing if the 108, now the 25 would even show up at all i have lived many different transit experiences. transit equity is at the core of these experiences and drives me. overall, these extremes have shown me consistencies in our transit particularly in communities of color. there is no reason we should have transit deserts. especially in one of the wealthiest cities in the nation. i've been fortunate to have become active in the mission community with the san francisco latino democratic and united save the mission coalition. mitigating the effects of gentrification. i believe my on the ground work as a community advocate mixed in with my experience of growing up on transit give me a unique perspective to build partnerships for transit equity to come up with bold and creative solutions to the opportunities our transit faces. including supporting free muni for all. thank you for your time. >> any other applicants t

i'm a san francisco resident of d9 and i'm here with the san francisco aids foundation and advocacy network. i wanted to talk briefly about the city's commitment to getting to zero. zero hiv transmissions, zero hiv related deaths and stigma. this is an issue that impacts all of us. i particularly wanted to lift up people living with hiv and mental health care needs. people who are here and around in sanfrancisco when the epidemic first hit experienced a lot of trauma and lost a lot of their social support networks and to this day, they have a lot of really complex pyschosocial needs, including access to mental health services. they fought for future generations to be able to survive. and now, it's our turn to fight and to support them. we can't get to zero unless we address this crisis. part of that is acknowledging there are dozens people who die every year by suicide and that's unacceptable. i wanted to talk briefly about people who use drugs and how they deserve nonjudgmental services. many experience a lot of trauma on the street and oftentimes use substances to survive. every year we s

i am here as a citizen of san francisco. i fully support the comments just made by the attorney who spoke to you a few moments ago. i park on gilbert street and have for the last 19 years. i am well acquainted with the woman who i rent my parking space from, and she has told me many times how she would have to suffer the burdens of this name change. i fully agree that naming the public defender building after mr. adachi would be wholly appropriate and, frankly, would not be a burden on anyone. i would also point out that it's my belief, and i know this from contact with san francisco police department officers, that the circumstances that brought about the tragic and terrible demise of mr. adachi was not all together clear to the public. i'm well aware of what actually happened, and i believe that naming a street for mr. adachi is actually in furtherance of that effort by this city to conceal what actually happened. he deserved to be recognized for his fine work. there's no question about that, but certainly not by naming th
