juliette goodrich, kpix 5. two new details in the stabbing of a good samaritan writing to riding a bar train., the man had walked away from san leandro hospital before the attack and was considered an at risk missing person. we are getting our first look at the suspect, 39-year-old jermaine bram. he is sitting in the santa rita jail facing murder and carjacking charges. police say that he tried to steal a pair of shoes from a bart rider yesterday and stabbed the good samaritan to death to try to intervene. bart police also revealing new details as well as the sequence of events. the victim has been identified as oliver williams. police say williams got into a fight as the train was leaving the station, that struggle lasted about 10 minutes before the train stopped at the south tabor station. the whole incident was captured on security cameras inside the train car. but, one very important witness is nowhere to be found. bart police have failed to speak with the rider targeted in the initial theft. >> he was able

his daughter, destiny lewis do in a few weeks with his grandson told kpix 5 that he was happy and excited. my father was a really good person, kindhearted and loved everybody. i wish this never happened. the stabbing happened to tuesday afternoon on a warm springs bart train between mayfair and south hayward station. the stabbing happened over a pair of sneakers. prosecutors alleged brim was trying to steal from another man when williams intervened. when the train pulled into south hayward station, jermaine brim ran leaving paramedics to attended to williams who was waiting for multiple stab wounds from the neck. in the courtroom, family members of the suspect and the victim sat next to each other while a judge right off multiple charges. in addition to murder, brim is facing charges for committing a felony while out on bail from a case in san francisco. >>> today there was a moment of silence for williams at the bart board meeting. less than 24 hours after the bar general manager complainer. >> reporter: operators painted a different picture to the board. >> also indirectly witnessed som

let's get right to kpix 5's andrea nakano who's live in orinda with what federal agents just uncovered. >> reporter: yeah, there have been many twists and turns in this investigation into the orinda shooting. just last week 5 arrests were made and then on monday 4 of the suspects were released. well today the atf worked with the contra co sherf's department and made additional arrests. they also seized some guns and made an alarming discovery. here are some of the pictures a from san francisco. it shows swat teams and vehicles during the operation. even negotiators were onhand. the enforcement team seized multiple weapons, and according to a national ballistics database, some of the guns were linked to other shootings in the bay area. now the atf's raid was in support of the contra costa county sheriff's department investigation into the orinda shooting at an airbnb that killed 5 people during a halloween party. now the atf also announced today that they are offering a $20,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspects in the orinda shooting. reporting
