jeff: johnnie mae? mae: i would like to piggyback on what john said, he was extremely adamant about increasing the numbers of minorities in the fbi. in fact, when i was up in the press office, mr. webster created a unit. its sole purpose of that we had to contact all the electronic and printed media outlets throughout the united states, the major ones. we would travel there. it was three of us. the three of us would travel throughout the united states, going on tv, whatever, trying to put this positive image of the fbi out to the community, letting them know about the jurisdictions, why we do the things we do. really they thought that we invaded and caused problems. we tried to tell them we had jurisdictions and explained that to them. as a result of growing and talking to the media, we went to ebony magazine. at that time, ebony did an article on me as a black woman in the fbi. as a result of that, producers came and wanted to do a movie. director webster approved it, saying, this is good, this gives u

jeff: that's right. technology has had a great year, but we believe technology stocks can still run in 2020. that's because there's a lot of attention and capital expenditures, especially in the software sector. like ourrs that we companies which are levered to artificial intelligence, machine learning, and cloud computing. if you look across enterprises, they are making those upgrades to benefit from those innovative technologies. vonnie: is there any way to insulate yourself from what might be a more negative outcome to the u.s.-china trade negotiation, even in terms of intellectual property or security? jeff: that's a great question. our view on the trade negotiations the past year and a half is it's been a work in progress. it's very difficult to get a competitive edge trading around what is going on in the trade negotiations. many times it is two steps forward, one step back. it is a very fluid situation. with regard to insulating your portfolio against the negative outcomes that could come from tra

that's how he repaid jeff sessions. but even though the jeff sessions endorsement for trump kind of looms large in history because it was the first senate endorsement and because of how pear shaped that went in the trump-sessions relationship, jeff sessions wasn't the first overall from congress. candidate trump's first endorsements in 2016 from republicans serving in congress came a few days before the sessions endorsement from the senate. earlier that same week, the day after trump won the nevada caucuses, trump actually got his first two congressional endorsements from these two republican members of the house, on your left, chris collins, republican congressman from new york, on the right, duncan hunter, republican congressman from california. those were the first two republican members of congress to be willing to go out on a limb and give their support to donald trump as a presidential candidate in february of 2016. and those two first trump endorsers have gone on to be famous in the trump era for their own stuff.

jeff: exactly. the pitch, although they are not working ostensibly with local governments -- they are leaving that with secondary agencies -- is that they would set up these semi-on thomas regents, tracts of land -- semi autonomous regions, tracts of land, with judges who they would hire to run things. they would be immune to local law. that's what's interesting. there's a line that the justice is more important than the tax breaks and he talks laws. he's saying let's create these. there will be some but there's a lot of freedoms and it's going to be economically successful. jeff: his argument is rule of law is the most important thing in this common-law institute has been retired and they are hoping british judges is the ideal when whyr any other, that as opposed to any other code of laws or ethics? didn't have the best answer for people worried about colonialism. carol: he's got as far to say we've sold property -- solved property. poverty. jeff: that's one of his pitches. carol: some other well-k

meteorologist jeff berardelli is tracking the storm. so jeff, how long can we expect this weather to last? >> elaine, this is a really slow-moving storm. i think it's going to last at least until tuesday morning. here is the situation right now. we have two storms. the parent low, which was a blizzard across the ohio valley now transferring its energy, becoming a nor'easter with a whole hodgepodge of weather and snow. it's ice, it's rain along the eastern seaboard. let's take it step by step. overnight tonight, it's rainfr e low right along the new jersey coast. but as that moves out and it kind of blossoms or strengthens, it will begin to pull cold air in just in time for the evening commute. not going to be easy or pretty in new york or boston. it's snow, heavy at times, overnight tomorrow night, straight to tuesday morning in boston. it will be done by sunrise by 4:00 in new york city. look how much snow we're expecting to see. the purple is over 6 inches. anywhere you see the pink, that's as much as a foot and a half to close to 2 f

jeff: i think there are couple things going on here. for one thing, across the equity market, the 20 largest stockmarkets in the world, correlations have come down, well below where they were around the financial crisis and its aftermath. back down to the golden era of the 1970's and 1980's and 1990's correlations were fairly low. that is great news. the other thing i'm excited about is we are starting to see some life in value stocks. while they move up and down together, value stocks have dramatically lagged growth stocks. the new life we are seeing in financials, value stocks and national stocks, generally speaking the last few months is a good sign. maybe it is a second win for the stock market. new leadership in an area that has been left there want -- f behind for a while. allowing stocks to find new leadership. that could be the story for 2020. dorlet: how financial stocks depend a lot on 10 year yields and bond yields head over wall. in looking at that i want to bring in i seven services data, which disappointed. it showed expan

jeff? >> melissa said earlier those are fantastic vehicles but there may have been a hint of sarcasm there, ford has discontinued they sold so well they discontinued them but here it's about transmissions and about something called i want to get it right the dps dual clutch transmission. they were in both the ford focus , and the ford fiesta, model years 2011-2016. the employees are alleging that ford knew they had a terrible transmission, and they sold the cars anyway and said they were fine. here is some of what a former and current employees are saying employee described as a mechanical expert quoted in the detroit free press, everybody knew they had problems. they were rushing into production. things weren't ready yet. another described as a ford engineer. if you ask questions, you're accused of mutany so you put your head down, and make it work important to note these are anonymous quotes, although ford said who they were in terms of what they did, nobody has gone on the record yet. i

jeff van drew a moderate democrat. from southern new jersey a district voted for president trump in 2016. he had a five-point margin. he is now planning to switch parties as a sign of this democratic process may be falling apart. rachel: he has been showing signs of being unhappy with the impeachment process for a while. i'm surprised he decided to switch parties. i wanted to say, this is a man who understands what his job is as a member of congress who represents a district. he says my job isn't to like or dislike trump. my job is to exact as much goodwill and help for my district. ed: he has been outspoken about that. rachel: that is somebody who understands the job after congressman. pete: want a symbol how bad, how rigged this impeachment has been, democratic party lost a member of a caucus. i don't want a d next to my name. i want an r next to my name because of how unfair and dishonest this process has been. president trump tweeted overnight. thank you for your honesty, jeff. all the democrats know you're right.

let's bring in jeff ranieri after an active weekend and what is coming next, jeff? >> and you'll see those rainfall totals we picked up in san francisco, that did lead to some of the isolated flooding. we had from one to two and a half inches in san francisco and much of that happening on saturday. oakland with nearly an inch and a half. concord over an inch. redwood city over an inch and san jose not nearly as much. we had a rain shadow there with half an inch. a look at storm ranger on mobile doppler radar and we've cleared out from the north bay down to the south bay. but then the next thing to point your attention to through tomorrow morning is the possibility of patchy dense fog that could reform. we're not seeing visibility problems but by tomorrow morning that could begin to deteriorate. we'll talk about the fog and the chance of more showers returning and i'll have details on that in about 15 minutes. >> thanks, jeff. >>> repair cruise in the south bay are using this break in the rain to make repair and cleaning out problem spots arrives. damian trujillo is
