kpix 5's katie nielsen joins us live from the scene with how it all unfolded. katie? >> reporter: michelle, we're here at the corner of chase and cherry streets. firefighters trying to put this fire out six hours after it started. you can see some smoke coming out of the attic of the home and also firefighters here still trying to put out those hot spots. the first 911 calls about this fire came in around 10:30 last night saying flames were shooting up out of the roof. when firefighters arrived and tried to get inside the house, they were blocked by what they called a large amount of items stored inside the home and attic, making it hard for firefighters to find the elderly woman who was inside. >> crews tried to make immediate entry into the building. it was very because the house was full of materials, extra storage. >> firefighters eventually found the 84-year-old, brought her outside, attempted cpr, but she passed away from her injuries. fire investigators will be here trying to figure out exactly how this fire started, but right now the fire is still burning, onl

katie prescott, bbc news. hundreds of thousands of people have filled the narrow streets of hong kong to take part in a peaceful march, demanding greater political rights. singing pro—democracy anthems and shining lights in the dark, the crowd followed the route of previous large protests to the financial district. this is the first time since april police have allowed a rally to take place. 0ur correpondent, laura bicker, has been there watching the march and explained what those taking part what to see happen. it is the eve of the six—month anniversary of these protests. it began injune as protesters took to the streets to contest the extradition bill and what they believe is encroaching pro—beijing on their civil liberties. when it comes to what they want now, they say they have five demands, not one less. that includes a public inquiry into what they believe has been police brutality within the last six months. they also want an amnesty for the near 6,000 people that have been arrested in that time.
