chris: let's talk about the ppp. the president just signed a bill that congress had passed, another $310 billion for the paycheck protection program. but the first round -- i think it was $250, 300 billion -- the sign-up for that ran out in 13 days. how long do you think this next tranche is going to last, and can you guarantee that big corporations, like, ruth chris that got money the first time around but won't even get money this final is -- this time? >> i want to thank everybody at the sba and the treasury because we launched a brand new program in an incredibly short period of time. and the fact that we ran out of money just goes to show the success of this. let me put this in per spect. in the first round, over a million companies had workers of 10 people below, and there has been a lot of focus on these bigger companies, we made it clear if they shouldn't have apply pded, they're paying back the money. so i think you're going to see this move in the right direction. and i think you're going to also see in thi

ppp really was a two-month band aid. i understand the intent. pay the employees. the real issue for the independent restaurants is not a two-month band aid the real issue is they don't have the resources, the money or the training to reopen what is needed for the entire industry is really a vaccine -- i'm sorry, a bridge to the vaccine. and specifically the question i think that should be asked right now is it would be uncalculable if 30 to 40%, i think that's a conservative number, of independent restaurants and small businesses don't make it through. so the question is what are we going to do in this period we believe we have a 2 to 3-month window right now before these independent restaurants are forced to permanently close. so what's needed is not another version of ppp again, good intent but it's the wrong medicine what's needed is really a massive opportunity to a bridge to a vaccine, which is a trillion dollar number it's large, i understand it, but that number is going to be much, much less than the uncalculable
