michigan national guard partnered with the michigan mddhs,s association, the city of muskegon and numerous other partners to offer no-cost covid-19 test to residents of the state and county. they tested 1018 people. we had testing expanded in flint as well this weekend. today i signed an executive order that expands the type of medical personnel that can order a test to include nurses, physicians assistants and pharmacists. this creates a new category of community testing sites that offer testing to anyone with reason to be tested without advanced order and without charging out-of-pocket costs to any michigander. under this executive order, anyone who leaves their work for home or has even mild symptoms of covid-19 may receive a test at community testing locations without securing a doctor's order. dr. calhoun has also announced , so now,criteria today michiganders who are expanded -- you are eligible for expended testing include anyone who exhibits symptoms, someone exposed to a person who has been diagnosed with covid-19 or has symptoms, someone working outside home for 10 days or reside

that's the controversy in michigan. do you send the applications out preemptively to all voters, do they have to request the absentee application? there's even as we saw, by the way, this is the other one, i meant to say, the other thing, states don't have a ton of experience with this. this is the percentage of votes in swing states that were cast in person in the most recent election. look at these three. north carolina, pennsylvania, wisconsin. almost all votes cast in person. suddenly in these states this year, they're getting a flood of mail-in ballots. they haven't processed it before, dealt with that. you talk about florida, two-thirds was in person in 2018, either in person early or in person same day. arizona is the only one with that kind of experience, with that scale of mail-in voting. one other thing i mentioned, the most expensive form of mail-in voting in california in the special election, every voter in that district was mailed not an application but a ballot. they sent out 425,000 ballots. everybody th

we're talking about michigan. president trump has butted heads with the governor, gretchen whitmer, over her handling of the coronavirus, even threatening to cut funding for the state over mail-in ballots. he got into a serious war of words with the attorney general of michigan, dana nessel, earlier this week. the michigan attorney general spoke out against the president after he failed to wear a mask during the public part of his visit to a ford plant in michigan that had been making -- that has been making ventilators and other ppe. the attorney general, dana nessel, is joining us right now. attorney general, thank you so much for joining us. you strongly criticized the president when you and i spoke thursday night. he's since attacked you on twitter, with two tweets immediately after the interview. he's retweeting those two tweets earlier today. what's your reaction? >> well, you know, when i was on your show, his failure, absolute refusal to wear a mask where anyone could see him wearing a mask, i called him a

what is the situation in michigan tonight? >> well, i think when it comes to this virus i think it is tenuous. our cases aren't going down. our governor is trying to follow the guidelines set out by the white house itself. and yet we have a state legislature that is run by republicans in both the house and the senate that have, like you said, voted to strip her of emergency powers that are giving tacit approval to these protesters who are gathering against the advice, not observing social distancing. i just saw this evening cell phone data from the last round of protests, the ones that our president tweeted out hashtag liberate michigan, about giving them approval. i saw cell phone data showing those cell phones scattering around the state predominantly to west michigan where i work. and we're seeing cases in west michigan go up by 50%. 100%, 200% in some counties over the last few weeks. and i just know that from today's protests people are going to go back to their communities in other parts of michigan and we're just going
