if it starts to the north bay by 9:00 by 6:00 a.m. tomorrow, here is that line breaking apart, and it is now working its way across the bay area through the heart of the ba . that is 24 hours from now with rain coming in across the center of the bay area. we have the run line again and that is how long it takes for it to get down to the south bay. sunday afternoon is better rain in the south bay. none of this will be terribly heavy but this is a slow marcher. we will get a decent rain amount from this, particularly in the north bay. that covered sunday, but monday is a little bit different. we don't have that organized line anymore on monday, but what we have are scattered, pop up showers that can appear randomly in the bay area. some could be in the form of et of those that will bring you a brief downpour and possibly small hail, but the chances of that are relatively low for monday. as we look at the rainfall totals on here, here's the rain for tonight in the north bay as we at in the sunday rain, you can see it is bay area wide wit

watch out north bay. it is coming for you. the rest of us will get some rain and then thunderstorms and showers for sunday night through at least tuesday. here's a look at our storm.rfoo over the pacific and now let's talk about how it gets here and how it will influence our weekend plans. for saturday we wake up with increasing clouds as you can see that is the gray and then look at this by 6:00 light green to moderate rain that yellow and moving into the north bay and just sits there for hours. look at this, 12 hours later and still in the north bay, but starting to come out and weaken and that means the rainfall amounts are considerably less across the rest of our neighborhood and over the north bay with that initial system. by 5:00 sunday, you can see showers developing. let's look at that rain and atmospheric river lnarrer and we're already looking at a quarter to half inch of rain in cloverdale and look what happens by sunday. well more than an inch to nearly two inches up there while the rest of us will have about a qua

it's just starting to move into the north bay. santa rosa on northward will start to see that rain after sunset tomorrow. it becomes scattered but there will be times of heavy waves of rain moving through parts of the east bay and the peninsula. the south bay will get the lighter amounts of rain as we get that typical rain shadow where it moves over the santa cruz mount bore it moves over the santa clara county. we're also looking at rain continuing into monday. in terms of how much we're going to get, it could be up to a quarter inch of rain in san jose. look at the east bay, there could be 3/4 inch of rain up to that amount or even higher for the north bay. we are now in the part of the driest time of the year. take a look at what we're usually getting in terms of rain for san jose. in january, we normally get over two inches, almost three inches of rain. you see how it drops off as we head towards march and april. and now that we are in may, this is one of those months where we usually only get about a half inch of rain for the

the north bay has the best chance of wet weather as we go through today and for tomorrow. so rain chances, santa rosa today, 60%, 30% on thursday and then dropping with the rain chances on friday and saturday, they then increase by saturday into monday. now, for san francisco, looking at a 40% chance of rain for today and then dropping with the rain chances thursday, friday and saturday the rain chances go up for sunday and monday but for south bay in san jose, were not looking at the best rain chances here, so drier weather as we look over the next few days for a 20% chance for today, 10% thursday, friday and saturday and then increasing by sunday and monday for the south bay as we look to rain chances. so again, north bay is the best shot of seeing wet weather a little closer to the weather system. the satellite and radar view as an upper-level low that we are still tracking with rain showers spinning around this offshore late-season storm system. let's show you, as we go through the day on futurecast, you can see the pop up showers as we head to today and as we look to
