california's dialing back its reopening plans as cases there soar. joining us now is cindy martin, the superintendent of the san diego unified school district. thank you for being here. how hard of a decision was this to make? >> well, good morning, you know i'm a life long educator. i'm in my 31st year of educator and these are very difficult decisions to make and difficult times and many, many times serving in the inner city schools as a teacher and principal i know how important school is for our young people. especially students that are at risk, low income students. i served ten years in the inner city school here in san diego before becoming superintendent. the decisions waive heavy on us. i speak to all of my superintendent colleagues across the country as we make the toughest decision, the biggest adaptive challenge in the history of public education. this is an important time for us to make smart decisions for our students and for our communities. we have to make smart plans and we have to keep our communities safe. >> correct me if i'm wron
