around the bay, 68 san francisco and 71 oakland and upper 70s to low to mid-80s for the north bay. so another day of smoky skies as we look to tomorrow and for friday. temperatures will be on the rise just a little bit here as we head through the next several days. let's check in with gianna for a look at traffic. >>> good morning. taking a look at the roadways on this wednesday morning, we're looking okay as far as traffic goes along 101 out of the north bay. through ma run county. going to the golden gate bridge, some foggy spots this morning but overall traffic is at the accomplishment. 15 minute drive south 101 into san francisco. street closures though in ma run county. highway 1 at bear valley ances drake evard and coastal traffic is limited to local traffic only. so again those are closures for the marin county area. due to the ongoing wildfires. let's take a look at traffic along 580. it is certainly starting to hold up here westbound 580 as you come out of tracy. near mountain house. all way to north flynn we're seeing speeds down to about 19 miles per hour in some spots.

east bay shoreline up to the north bay and getting down to the santa cruz mountains and of the south bay we go forward that mixes out very quickly before noon then comes back again tonight tomorrow morning at the furthest extent this is the most territory. that's covered a little bit thinner with the fog going on doesn't quite get through the santa cruz mountains as well or the south bay. so maybe thing get those planes up and running a little bit sooner even tomorrow as well again that will mix out quickly into the day temperatures right now we've got the lower 60's in the east bay upper 50's pretty much of a 50 story up to the north bay, the sun hasn't had much time to work at 57 meanwhile for san jose so for 71 is expected by 10:00am at 1 o'clock about 87 were approaching about 90. we'll do it in those inland valleys again today and through the weekend. the heat spike however has been delayed until early next week we are looking for race potentially to see some spots reach 100 into early next week, we'll check out that extended in your 4 zone forecast coming up in a bit robin all

we might see adjustments to the north bay tomorrow. we're going one more day of warm temperatures for tomorrow. we start off the morning around the hills in the 70s. that's going to make fighting those fires even at night difficult with daytime warm conditions and low humidity numbers. then for the afternoon we'll see numbers in the upper 90s for another day around san jose. 103 closer to morgan hill. tri-valley up towards antioch, near 100 degrees. 80s bayside from oakland into hayward, closer to fremont. san mateo about 82 degrees. san francisco starting to cool down a bit. we should see numbers in the low to mid-70s tomorrow and around the north bay we'll see highs mainly in the mid to upper 90s. so the excessive heat will continue for one more day. this is until 9:00 tomorrow night. then the cooling. what does that look like? let's jump ahead to thursday. warmest temperatures inland are still in the 90s, but even low 90s is about a 10-degree drop in temperatures. so that's where the seven-day forecast is headed. thursday and friday

what's happening in the east bay and north bay, robbie? >> what we're seeing in san francisco is part of that fire in marin county drift into the west and the bay and into marin county. meantime the fire generating the most smoke is the scu fire east of san jose. one of the signs we've been watching are those big column plumes. the hotspots extending high into the spheatmosphere, and the win inside there can really lift some big pieces of little leaves and ash miles away from the actual fire site. we're taking storm ranger, 86 degrees. a wind shift and the fire is moving a little bit more south than it was over the last 24 hours. cooler temperatures but added wind, still not a good combination in the santa cruz mountaines. in the north bay, winds out of the southwest. the bay area radar, including storm ranger is scanning multip multiple wildfire plumes. after this, that smoke tunnels down impacting air quality like we've been seeing the last couple days. >> we're talking a lot about the air quality. we'll show you where it's causing the m

and there is one closure in the north bay. it is affecting parts of 116 in both directions between highway 1 and this road. if you're in the santa cruz mountains, continue on highway 9 and parts of 17. >>> as a live news desk, we have new evacuations going on in the north bay, in marin county because of the woodward fire burning their point reyes national seashore. it started almost a week ago and it has burned almost 3000 acres and it was last 5% contained. this new mandatory evacuation orders came down. let me show you a map of this area. silverhills road, fox drive and other areas of must evacuate immediately. they want you to go to sir francis drake boulevard. there are evacuation warnings in the expanded area. they have in place under the area of drake to olema south and bolinas. they are being told to get ready and to charge your devices and pack your bags and wait for further word from authorities in that area and we will be keeping a close eye on this fire as these evacuations are in effect and as it advances toward so

and it's not just the north bay. fires are burning in parts of santa clara county and the east bay along with santa cruz, san mateo counties. that's the czu fire. and tonight we've learned a body has been found in the fire wreckage. >> we have team coverage tonight of all these fires. let's begin with fire fighterma in scotts valley. >> reporter: and it was some very close call for one homeowner in boulder creek tonight. it was very scary just off the road here off highway 9 we watched as flames headed right to the home. this is what it looked like in boulder creek just a couple of hours ago. the flames were burning a fence, and we did not see any fire crews around. but ten minutes later cal fire crews showed up and attacked the flames with shovels and water preventing the flames from burning the house. but it's not just firefighters working to save homes. michael and his friend said they used shovels and rakes to save at least two homes in boulder creek. >> we've been seeing homes on the brink of being burnt down. t

the north bay fire and the south bay for the santa cruz mountains, three main fire zones. let's start off to the first one right up here to the north bay. what i have done is highlighted the active hot spots today. you can see on the lnu lightning complex, northern planks of the fire. not good news tomorrow, we are looking at a hot, 94 degrees and wind gusts up to 20 miles per hour. let's bring you to the south bay of some of the hot spots. on the western side and also the southern side of the fire, tomorrow, a hot1 and wind gusts up to 20 and low humidity. a worse case scenario for firefighters. santa cruz mountains, most of the activities off to the north and eastern side of the fire and we are going up to a hot 90. conditions next 24 hours not going to be helping. the weather pattern. look at this. we have high pressure bringing in the hot air and low pressure helping to funnel in the humidity. so this weather pattern is acting like a conveyer belt. air quality is not improving. we have a chance for isolated thunderstorms early tomorrow morning, popping up here across t
