jenette nesheiwat. dr. jenette, let me go over some of these things. we got information on delivery, whether walgreens, cvs, ups, mckesson all of these other things, when it comes to distribution though, ultimately distribution, the uk had the day today, vaccine day. patients starting getting the vaccine right away. did they establish a model in your mind? is that the sort of model we should follow in terms of who gets in terms of the order of them getting this, the vaccines? >> hey, charles. yes, we actually can pay attention and maybe learn a thing or two before we roll out our vaccines here this week. so far they haven't had any major hank-ups or glitches. this is truly historic time. this is sense of hope a sense of joy, of the beginning of the end with the mission and inoculation vaccines. they started giving it to 90-year-olds, nursing homes, health care workers. distribution, shipping, storage, huge low -- logistical challenge. we're up to the challenge. we're prepared, rollout. it is a matter of having fda approval which we expect this thursday

jenette nesheiwat. we may have that actually reversed, as we have more lockdowns we have a spike in cases. i'm wondering if the lockdowns could actually make the spike in cases even worse? >> well, that's a possibility, david, especially if you see there is lots of social gatherings. the cdc says 74% of the outbreaks right now are from social gatherings, mixing of households. people traveling from one household to another, not wearing their mask, not social distancing indoors. that is where the outbreaks are stemming right now. we with memorial day, labor day, thanksgiving day, we saw spikes and surges after holidays. we'll see the same thing unfortunately with christmas. now we have new year's coming up. it will get worse if we do not really tackle the cdc guidelines wearing mask and social distancing f you're going to be traveling up a window, up a door, make sure there is good ventilation or circulation. otherwise the numbers will go up and overwhelm and burden hospitals. david: i want to get to the

jenette nesheiwat. hi, doctor, how are you? >> hey i'm doing great. i'm ecstatic. good morning to you. rachel: let me first ask you, when the president said this would come out, did you actually believe this would happen in this timeline? >> yes. you know what, rachel? this is a monumental moment and great achievement and accomplishment for our country. we saw fda approval on friday. i believed it, eight, nine months ago, we were able to discover the genetic sequence and this code for the virus. they have been working on it thanks to "operation warp speed." we saw with the white house administration, president trump came out september 15th, speed up the production and development of these vaccines to make sure we had millions of doses for americans to help curb this pandemic. as you mentioned this is a miracle right before chris mavs and especially needed with 3,000 deaths daily and 100,000 americans hospitalized this is putting a burden on the hospital system. 1/3 of icus are near capacity as we speak right now so this is truly a blessing and as we speak right now
