we had a statehouse member talked about the fact that violence may occur today. in fact, we had a credible violence by electors and they shut down the state official buildings around there. when you can't conduct an election without threats of violence, we become a third world nation. what are we, venezuela? it's ridiculous. and to have an elected official, in this case a statehouse member, say he wasn't sure if there would be violence or not, he should stand up and say no val violence. this country has come too far and why i'm troubled and why i ultimately decided to leave the party because our leadership needs to stand up and say, no, we have a process and we respect it and we respect the vote of the american people and when they have voted, we move on to govern the nation and not play politics. >> what is the future of the republican party, do you think? because we have seen all of these house republicans siding with these crazy theories. there are now adherence to qanon. obviously not the value you stand for. we should note for people who don't know you criti

what's on your radar screen as you transition from the statehouse in oklahoma to the big house in washington? >> it's a lot. i don't think people really realize you are elected on november 3 and you are sworn in on january 3, so you have 60 days to set up two offices. hire an entire staff. find a place to live while in washington, d.c. throw a couple of major holidays in the mix. there is a lot happening right now. but i'm excited for the opportunity to represent oklahoma. >> i know in oklahoma, i mentioned my family's from there. a couple hours north of you, i still like oklahoma city and those of you a little further south. what were the issues that you ran on that you think really mattered to americans in your part of the country? >> i think there were a couple things. one of the big take aways from this election cycle was oil and gas. it's 25% of oklahoma's revenue. and we really have representatives that voted a against of the oil and gas interests in siding with what i consider extreme members of the democrat party. that's very problematic for our state. we have 90,000 jobs tied to the
