jolly, former republican congressman from florida and an msnbc political contributor. good to see you all. i'll start with you, susan. trump reportedly preparing these challenges for these lawmakers. you have congresswoman liz cheney, brian kemp, lisa murkowski, tom rice and gave his full endorsement this weekend to kelly ward of arizona who embraced his false election conspiracies. what do you make of this? how much influence does trump really have now? >> well, at the moment, he still has a good deal of influence. if you look at what happened in arizona, ms. ward did win re-election. it was close. i think it was 51-49. but he still does have influence. he goes into a topic that he knows nothing about and that is election law. you cannot just start a new party. it doesn't just happen. he can run as an independent assuming he's not convicted and barred from running from office. but to start a new party and get access on ballots in all 50 states is just -- doesn't happen overnight. so, of course, he talks about that which he does not know anything about. that doesn't me

. >>> joining me now -- and david jolly, welcome to you both. donna, i want to start with you. i want to get your reaction to what i was speaking with peter about just a bit go. with all of these folks essentially seeking pardons. you have this reporter from the "new york times" on these wealthy felons seeking pardons from the president giving tens of thousands to the president's allies. >> i mean, it actually is pretty shocking. i mean it really does feel like it is pardons for sale weekend at the white house. but it's unclear what's really going to happen. i mean the president is significantly understaffed in his white house. imagine if reporting is clear, he's really thinking more about himself and his family than those sort of extended allies. so we'll see what happens in these waning hours. and it would be not a surprise either way or the other if there are hundreds of pardons issued between now and noon on tuesday. >> david, you know, this report is not saying this president has committed any crime. but how normal is activity like this? especially anecdotally if you read

david, you first here. for the most part, republicans have been silent on green and she's saying now that she has the full support of trump who met with gop house minority leader kevin mccarthy this week. is the republican party still the party of trump and then by default does that make it the party of marjorie taylor greene? >> certainly, alex. it is the party of donald trump. it's the party of marjorie taylor greene. the party is getting more trump-like. not less trump-like. in terms of marjorie taylor greene, i think we also have to really think about the seriousness of this and we either believe the fbi reports are not about qanon and conspiracy theory groups, and maybe not personalize it so much about marjorie taylor greene but let's go back to what the fbi said. starting in the summer of '19, they said, what is different in this environment is not the white nationalism. we've seen that before. what's different about the misinformation and conspiracy groups that feed that. the fbi director testified t

david jolly, as well. also joining us, christina greer, and professor greer, let me begin with you. what are you seeing in these election returns tonight with raphael warnock certainly looking like he's in the lead of all four candidates, including himself, who are running. >> let this be a lesson to the democrats and especially to the larger dnc, we've ignored so many states over the years and just written off full states and haven't really put up serious candidates or really tried to mobilize democratic voters, especially african-american voters in those states. and we know that grassroots organizations have done the heavy lifting that the party did not do. we're seeing young, black turnout especially not just in cities but in rural and suburban areas across the state. we saw how black women delivered in alabama with doug jones. this should be a larger democratic strategy. we know that stacey abrams and fair fight were in georgia, wisconsin, michigan, arizona, nevada neva nevada. all those states went blue in 2020. i think that we can extrapolate some of the strategies and think a

i want to ask about something david jolly said. he said the stakes of tonight's race in georgia is no smaller than the future of the country. without democratic control of the senate, you can joe biden's agenda will be challenged at every turn. the 12 republicans now seemingly proudly part of the sa sedition caucus. is that an over statement? >> i don't think it's an overstatement. i do think that what you have to remember is i talked to a lot of senators today, there are a will the of boy we could be a chairman feeling going around my former democratic colleagues. and around the republican colleagues is a lot of nervousness they will lose the majority. i actually believe that if the democrats take this senate, it's still going to be a very evenly divided body. the most porimportant thing to remember is democrats control what goes on the floor. that's the power of the majority is what bills come out of committee. what bills are voted on. that is where mitch mcconnell has really worrying the senate. he refused to let the senate vote
