high winds in downtown livermore, low humidities and we're talking about wildfires. we're talking about wildfires in the czu lightning complex. that's an area that was put out in mid to late september. in the words of cal fire, those fires have been regenerated by these high winds. cal fire posted these pictures, firefighters responding to at least ten vegetation fires across san mateo and santa cruz counties overnight. some within the lightning complex zone and santa cruz county, rekindled by these wind gusts. they've been having trouble accessing some of those fires because of downed trees. another problem. no structures are threatened. cal fire describes our humidity levels as being critically low. last night just outside livermore where we're at right now, an acre of mulch and debris caught fire. in milpitas, a fire quickly spread to two acres. both of those fires are contained. no structures burned, no one hurt. the wind knocked down a number of trees this morning, a couple of homes and across roads. this one on highway 9 just across highway 35 in the santa cruz

livermore highs in the 50s. these will eventually lead to some rain that should fall mostly after sunset tonight. the timing of our first storm coming in as we get into about 9:00 there in the north county, then after midnight to about 6:00 a.m. that's when most of the showers should move through. a few showers at times across the higher hill tops but overall that's not the main event in terms of the rain. that's going to bring a lot more moisture with that second storm that will make for a bigger impact and rain totals by early next week. the potential for parts of the area including the north bay that could see more than an inch of rain. that's one of the things the atmospheric river storms can do is pack a bigger punch in terms of rainfall and the first of those types of storms on monday. next week we will continue to see the storms come in that we hope will make up for the rainfall deficit. the bay area still 15% to 40% of average. what you see there in the seven-day forecast should help us make up some of t

they're just seen in fact we broke a record yesterday and livermore and today we could do the same in santa rosa and even 10 field. >>most of our valley's going to see record breaking heat possible all weekend long even for your mlk monday. but we do have to watch out for gusty winds in fact this is going to elevate our fire danger concerns starting sunday night lasting all day on monday and that's because we're tracking warm dry offshore winds. first for those of you in the east bay valleys and even mount diablo range as well, including our highest peaks in the north bay mountains and east bay hills elevations above 1000 fee could easily see gusts upwards of 55 miles per hour. but for most of our valleys anywhere from about 20 to 35 mile per hour wind gusts and it is pretty unseasonable this time of year to have very warm and dry conditions in fact the last time we had record breaking heat in january was back in 2014, but fortunately today and for most of this upcoming weekend tracking light to breezy winds. we are going to notice more of that northerly flow helping to clear out our

a mix of mid to upper 50s and low 60s here you can see the rain report from livermore as well. temperatures will drop off, but not a lot. futurecast is indicating some thick fog tomorrow morning. by 10:00, still really reduced visibility. that will slowly dissipate but by noon we are still talking about reduced visibility around the bay and finally it will improve into the afternoon. we will be mostly in the 40s to around 50 degrees near the bay and then temperatures will warm up to about 60 degrees by lunchtime. even more of a warm-up as we head into the afternoon. i temperatures inland reaching potentially the mid 60s, that's close to 10 degrees above normal for this time of the year. and even along the coast, temperatures likely to reach right around 60 degrees. and we are just getting started with this warming trend. in fact, sunday and monday, we are talking about the potential close to record territory in a couple of spots around the bay area. around the bay temperatures will reach the mid-60s with low 60s along the coast. this dry stretch of weather will continue for a w

livermore, 37. morgan hill also at 38 degrees right now. and by the afternoon, we'll keep dry conditions for today. here's a closer look at doppler radar and satellite. we did have a system that passed to our north. for the most part we'll stay dry, locally breezy for this afternoon. temperatures will be in the upper 50s, low 60s today. san jose at 61 degrees. c concord, 60. look at san francisco and half moon bay, upper 50s, low 60s as well. let's talk about that high surf advisory. because of the strong wind and the large swell that we're expecting to see, this could mean wave heights as tall as 20 feet with breakers 25 plus feet. so though it is absolutely fascinating to watch those surfers out there, they are definitely pros. as far as we go, you know, admire from a distance. this is going to be into effect -- or remain into effect until 9:00 p.m. today. all day long we expect to see the crashing waves. in addition to that we'll keep this dangerous surf and these high wave advisories at least for tomorrow as well because look at the kin
