and so, you know, what better way to do it than publix? there's a lot of publix locations. the problem is his announcement was solely for publix to do the vaccinations in this county, not for any county health sites to be able to do. now, that drew a lot of outcry because county officials said, listen, this isn't a fully fleshed out plan. it is not equitable. there are not publix locations in every community. rural communities, poorer communities do not have access to this as much. so, after much discussion and much criticism, the governor has reversed his stance and now it will be a partnership between the county and publix locations, so there will be more distribution through public health sites in these rural communities. but there is still an uphill battle with the medical community trying to get these seniors vaccinated. listen to how one health official described this challenge in their state right now. >> the demand is far more than supply. the appointments right now are a bit of an issue, as you've seen through regionwide. we started out doing them by telephone, as

he is going to have publix stores, only publix stores, distribute the vaccine, instead of the actual, local, county-health sites. now, one of the proponents or people who are proponents of this plan state that one of the benefits is there are many publix stores around florida so this should make the vaccines more widely available for many seniors who are waiting for it. of course, florida, the first state to offer the vaccine to those 65 and older. however, there are people who are concerned. there are certain parts of the county that do not have publix stores. for example. and county-health officials are concerned that their sites are going to be shut down. and then, people who are in those neighborhoods will not have as-easy access to the vaccine. governor desantis defended his decision to use publix. listen into what he said recently. >> publix was ready to go, from the very beginning. and i think this is going to be really important, as we continue our mission to put seniors, first, when it comes to these shots for the general public. . >> reporter: all right. so, still, many seni

publix is a recall company. publix just about every community. mostly have pharmacies so what a great idea to not just be able to have them at hospitals but to flood these vaccines out to different pharmacies that are very well embedded in our community. it's a great idea. it's a great way for floridians who,like in my district, are a very rural district in the middle part of the state don't have a lot of hospitals that they could go to or two or three hours away a publix a pharmacy you are can go to and get a vaccine. the only challenge we are having is the number of vaccines i talked to a hospital ceo yesterday is getting the obviously the display and demand aren't matching up right now. but i'm asking people to be patient. as soon as we get vaccinations here in florida, we will get everybody vaccinated. jillian: we have just about 30 second for your answer. obviously operation warp speed a big part of president trump's legacy. one that is positive. but you look at the event that ensued this week. how familiar of his legacy hinges on what he do
