order to be able to remove president trump from office with such little time left if you think back, shep, to the last time president trump was impeached in 2019 it took the house months to go through their impeachment inquiry and then the senate, another 2 1/2 weeks to put the president on trial and ultimately acquit him. at this point in time congress isn't even here. they've gone home with the house not scheduled to be back in session until right around inauguration so it would have to happen, first they would have to bring both chambers back to washington and then instead of going through the normal process and committee in the house, according to house judiciary committee chairman jerry nadler they would put the articles directly on the floor of the house and vote on them but then again it would still have to go over to the senate for a trial where it's unclear whether there would be enough support for that to pass with republicans like lindsey graham saying the president would have to do something else to cross the line before he would consider putting all options on the table and m
