sent in ljy good morning, yes, this was sent in by alfie, one of our regular weather watchers from northamptonshire. a lovely start to the day, nice and sunny. but a cold start, the risk of ice and widespread frost, but a lot of sunshine as well. like yesterday we will have a plethora of wintry showers, not all of us will see them, but more of us are likely to see them today than yesterday. certainly more inland than yesterday but they will not last terribly long. as far south as the south coast this afternoon, continuing through wales in the midlands, into east anglia, northern england, northern ireland and scotland, driven in on a gusty north and north westerly wind which will be strengthening across 0rkney and shetland, as we go through the course of the afternoon. temperatures, three in lerwick to eight in plymouth, but when you add on the wind chill, for many of us, it will feel below freezing, or into single figures. certainly a day to wrap up warm. through this evening and overnight come under clear skies the temperature will fall away, a few wintry showers left but not as many as during the

today, well, it's dawning like this for most of us, a beautiful sunrise with this weather watcher in northamptonshire, plenty of beautiful sunshine moments across the uk, but will be cooler for some of us across england and wales. high pressure in charge, but the flow of winds around this area of high pressure will be some quite cool air, in particular across england and wales. i mentioned the winds, they will be quite brisk across some southern areas and channel islands as well. some of us with sunshine, some patches of cloud and misting is here and there and icloud turning the sunshine hazy across parts of scotland, that could get to northern england and northern ireland free time. noticed this area of cloud drifting in from the north sea. it will break up as it moves inland, some patchy cloud for the midlands and east wales. i mentioned the strong winds towards the south, gusty for the coast in south—western the channel islands, and a cool wind for the north sea coast, nine, ten or 11 degrees here. highest temperatures further west, 17 for liverpool and glasgow, for instance. not quite as warm f
