charles clifford joins us now live. charles bay area rents prices have always been the highest center in the country right. >> yeah. that for a long time but there's actually some that. prices coming back up again. they may not reach the levels that we saw a few years ago, you know, overall the bay area rents have dropped about 15 to 20% since the beginning of the pandemic and we're seeing an increase. but it's from that lower level and they're in probably the next couple of months. we'll find out whether or not we're going to see rents as high as they were before. so far in 2000, 21 rents are up across the bay area compared to last year. san francisco rental prices are up about 5%. san jose is up 3% in oakland is up about 2 and a half percent. what's unclear at this point is how high rents will eventually go we're clearly seeing some growth. jeff andrews is a data journalist with some for dot com which tracks and lists rental properties. >> he expects that rental prices will continue to climb but may not get as high as

charles clifford to its to live from daly city. he has details. good afternoon, charles. >> hi there. yeah. your if you've ever driven to 83 daly city. you've probably seen this big tall white building up on top of the hill. this is seton medical center. it was. it's 58 years old. the building itself needs a little work to make it safe in the event of an earthquake last summer of the hospital here almost went out of business. but new owners have come in and they are investing millions in improving the building. in the months and years hmc seton medical center will receive a 60 million dollars seismic upgrades and modernization. the new owners of the hospital had previously committed about 100 million dollars to improve the facility. >> but these extra funds will be used to make the building safer and more accessible scene which provides emergency care cardiac services and other critical care services helps about 27,000 patients per year employees over 1100 people. the hospital is the key care facility for working class families in northern san mat

charles clifford was there and has all the details. >> right now. i'm along pleasant valley road outside a vacaville here in solano county, where around 10 o'clock this morning on tuesday morning. a grass fire broke out kind into the hills over there to the east of where i'm standing now. this fire was. temporarily evacuations here along pleasant valley road. fortunately they were able to bring it under control and lift those evacuation orders by about 1051, as far as we know, no one was injured. no structures were lost and fire crews responded very quickly to this place. this is in the same area that the lnu complex burned through here last year. last august. so they are very aware that the danger is high here and they move very quickly to put this fire out now, as for exactly what started this fire. we do not know yet. that is still under investigation. crews are going remain here on scene for some knocking down hot spots on making sure that this fire doesn't kick back up again. but for now in solano county, charles clifford kron 4 news. >> meanwh
