rohnert park, police and fire found a 21 year old man dead on the pavement. he had been hit by a car and thrown 103 ft. you feel terribly for the pedestrians, family, but the driver i mean, lives are changed forever. the young victim was a student at sonoma state university and walking back to campus from a shopping center across wasn't far but hed what many students do crossed in the middle of the block. yeah, i've done it myself. but i usually try to check. yeah it's probably not a good ideas. police say the victim had paused on the center median before he was struck. it looks like he stepped into the roadway struck pretty quickly, so we do not think the driver had any time to react. the driver took the next side street into a neighborhood and called to report he had hit someone. we do not think he was trying to evade the scene. he is a 19 year old man from nearby and grove police say he showed no signs of impairment, people pumping gas saw this happened in front of them. now the car will come the black one something very fast. hey that one, the ford focus
