thanks, adrienne. my name is melissa. as a number of people have mentioned already, the context for this work is unfortunately we're expecting extreme heat and air -- poor air quality events to get worse over time, due to climate change. and we also understand that the actions that we need to take to make the city more resilient, they're cross-departmental. we're working on supplementing the near-term actions with mide medium to long-term actions. i'm going to be talking about the heat and air quality resilience issue. we want to get academic stakeholders together to implement a plan. it is co-managed by the san francisco department of public health and the office of resilience of capital planning. the goals were established after kickoff meetings with over 15 city departments and with the feedback from community groups. the goal is to increase the resilience of san francisco's front line areas. the project is really designed to turn the high-level strategies that we already have in our plans, that you see on the right si
