today is the first day of classes and guys orville roseland and right school districts the roseland district in santa rosa had a vaccination clinic just yesterday about 55% of sonoma county students are vaccinated. the goal is 70% as the school year begins today was also back to school for the south san francisco unified school district. it's the first time students there were back in class since march of 2020. the district has upgraded its ventilation inside classrooms. it's also purchased 30 hospital grade machines that use ultraviolet raised to disinfect entire rooms. parents we talked with say they're confident the district is doing its best to keep kids and staff safe and that after more than a year at home, nothing compares to the experience of in person learning. i think it's very important because the zoom, it's one thing. but being in person is another's and they're really excited about that. when you think about socialization and teaching some of the important pieces that come along with really building relationships and learning to work with other individuals, i think it's extreme
