this was a view from dan thorn out in pleasant hill ca captured some of that lightning out that direction. pleasant hill as well as some other parts of the east bay are actually some of those areas that are still in the midst of some of the scattered shower activity. you can see stretching from the south of the dumbarton bridge on up across portions of 92 or we do that. that heavy pocket of rainfall all the way up towards conquered pleasant hill in walnut creek along 6.80 right there. we do have some areas of rainfall that embedded in here is actually some pretty good shower activity to the east of that around livermore. also looking at some rain and a couple of sprinkles remain in san francisco as well as right along to 80 on the peninsula. most of us have definitely come down from the lightning of earlier this morning. we're looking to the northeast of us. you can see some of those isolated pockets of thunderstorms in the central valley and out towards the sierra nevada to these are multiple reasons why we do still have red flag warnings in effect, not just for the bay area but through

dan thorn kron 4 news. >> thank you, dan and a new development tonight. this is in the east bay as la meta police city of alameda. police say a driver who ran a stop sign and crashing into another car killing a man monday night has now been charged with manslaughter and dui. this happened near cambridge drive. and for inside boulevard. police say the suspect blew through the intersection slamming into a car. it was carrying 2 people. nicholas bianchi was driving the second car and died. his passenger was hospitalized with serious injuries. but is expected to survive. the suspected drunk driver has not been identified. a bill aimed at limiting deaths from automobiles here in california cleared a big hurdle today. >> the bill that some are calling a game changer would give cities a bigger say in determining speed limits. our coverage on the call live for us. the newsroom with the details on this. jonathan. >> you know simply go 43 now on its way to governor gavin newsom's desk that bill would let cities have more flexibility in determining speed limits that

dan thorn kron 4 news. the south bay now one person is dead, 3 others injured after a crash in san jose. >> police say 2 cars crashed just after 10 o'clock last night near gurdwara avenue and kerr era court. one person was pronounced dead at the scene and 3 other people were seriously injured and taken to the hospital. this is san jose's 46th fatal crash this year and the 47th person to die from a crash. a car involved in a fatal crash 2 weeks ago has been removed from a beach near pacifica 2 weeks ago. 73 year-old anthony colon a's junior was for unknown reasons just drove his vehicle off a cliff. there. since then, the car had remained on the beach below highway one crews from cal fire. the san mateo county sheriff and chp spent hours using a large record to remove the car highway patrol still investigating why colonies drove off the roadway in the first place by examining the car. they hope to determine if there was a mechanical problem with a car or some other evidence to explain what might have happene

dan thorn kron 4 news. it's and we want to show you a man that fremont police are looking for. he approached a woman and punched her. >> repeatedly in the head and then threw her phone into a lake. that was a sketch. 2 of them and that they're looking for the unprovoked attack happened last month near a boat house by lake elizabeth in fremont. if you recognize that man called the police. berkeley police have 3 suspects behind bars who led officers on a chase along highway 24 and it ended with a big traffic mess. it was around 2 o'clock yesterday afternoon. that officer spotted a vehicle wanted for a carjacking. and that may have been involved in 3 robberies in berkeley. police confronted the suspects who took off and of those suspects were eventually stopped on highway 24 near the off-ramp to our renda. well, that chase shut down several lanes highway 24 headed eastbound. and here's video of that. the lanes remain blocked for several hours while police were investigating and all the traffic is now clear. well, in the south bay, a historic day for san jose as the city's chinese
