jim: our forecast, q3 right now, we have 2.5%. if anything come of the numbers are adding up that it is not quite as weak as the atlanta fed number which has dropped below 1%. but certainly, q3 numbers have been slipping. how much of that is delta, which should be fading as you get into q4, and how much of it could be -- could be supply constraints? fiscal stimulus fades and growth decelerates, and a big surge in demand we have seen has been lifted by fiscal stimulus, and that helps the inflation numbers. so it is not clear what all those are, but we are counting on grocery accelerating a bit. we've got 4% for q4, but then 3%, not a whole lot better than potential in q1 and q2. so there's a lot going on between covid and supply shortages and abating fiscal stimulus. but we do think growth is going to decelerate meaningfully by the second half of next year. lisa: we have been talking for months about how difficult it is to get the macro call right, the economic call, as well as the market call. at a point when so many people are ex

i'm jim acosta in washington. we begin with president biden on the world stage and under pressure overseas and here at home. biden wrapping up a press conference just a few moments ago in rome following his first g20 summit where today he and world leaders tackled some of the biggest issues facing the world like climate change, the pandemic, and the global economy. but biden's trip abroad so far has been overshadowed by his stalled agenda here in washington. democrats in congress have yet to reach a compromise on the $1.2 trillion infrastructure bill and that larger economic and climate plan. but as his agenda hangs in the balance, biden dismissed concerns that poll numbers posed a significant problem for his administration's priorities. let's take a listen. >> the polls are going to go up and down and up and down. they were high early. then they got medium, then went back up. now they're low. look at every other president. the same thing as happened. but that's not why i ran. i didn't run to determine how well i'

i am a really excited have jim join me. i would like to have jim say a few words about himself. and about his career and how he became a young constitutional history scholar. so jim talked a little bit about yourself for. >> thanks matt. it's a pleasure to be with you and all of you out there, like matt said, i'm currently a lecturer at arizona state university. by training i am a historian of the american revolution i am especially thrilled to be doing this with you guys. again, trained of the american revolution. obviously my phd from the university of virginia that huge diploma behind me is inordinately large. i do not know why they make them that large. my history is i'm interested in the subjects, i'm working on a book about revolutionary constitution making, specifically about the state of massachusetts. i was thrilled to be able to work on this project that allowed me too range much more alive that's i'm here to talk about tonight for. >> tonight's program jim and i are going to engage in conversation about the historic documents that we have on display in this exhibition

. >> and i'm jim sciutto. this morning president biden striking an optimistic tone ahead of tonight's cnn town hall event where he is expected to push his ambitious, yet unfinished agenda, while taking questions about that proposal. right now biden is working to bridge the ongoing divide within his own party amid a political tug of war. senators manchin and sinema are holding out for their priorities and both of them have different sticking points as they question in particular how to pay for this deal. >> the pay for is a big focus here, so is the final price tag. but what about what's actually in that bill? as we look at all of this, it's important to remember that these negotiations could also impact the $1.2 trillion bipartisan infrastructure bill. despite all the uncertainty, pramila jayapal says the talks are going well. >> i know he's working very hard with senators sinema and manchin and we are going to get this done because it is really important. let me just say that this is a good thing that's happe
