how do white house officials feel about it? >> supply chain concerns are the kind of things that aren't abstract. you can't get chlorine for your pool, you can't get your turkey, whatever it is. there are empty shelves or things at costco that just aren't there this week. it's a real thing that people see and as a reminder, the other thing is that at the same time that there are still long-term unemployed, women can't get back into the work force, schools closed erratically because of covid, all of that, there are also labor shortages at the very same time that are combining and conspiring with the supply chain problems to cause frustration. just general frustration. and this is a period and it's a challenging period for the white house because there's this malaise in addition to the economic concerns, there's just this feeling that we thought maybe we'd be in a better place by now. >> yeah. >> that joe biden ran on returning to normal and it just doesn't feel normal. it's a once in a century pandemic. >> you're not allowed to

what is going on with this white house? the president campaigned saying we will not, i will not politicize the justice department. what is happening now? >> it is completely being politicized. to let go what happened in our country with all the riots, a lot of people were not investigated, a lot were not punished, prosecuted. threatening regular parents, millions of parents all they care about their children wanting good education for their children. suddenly they're the one that will be investigated. they're the ones that will be prosecuted. this is very political, president biden honestly has not told us the truth. elizabeth: how about listening to what the parents are saying? where is the education department on that? the parents have legitimate questions about what the kids are learning at the schools. the parents are bosses of elected school officials, school board members. the parents are in charge. they're seeing porn go into children's books and libraries. they're seeing all sorts of stocks you can curriculum coming

how does the white house explain the calculus made in this speech? >> a framework is certainly not a deal and lawmakers have made that clear ever since the president visited house democrats this morning. first saying they wanted to see a text, then saying they wanted to make sure they had assurances of course of the two critical moderate senators who have been at the center of the negotiations, senator manchin and senator sinema. the president was projecting confidence before he left the white house today talking about the negotiating that they've been doing on this which he of course noted had gone on for hours and hours over months and months and saying that this is an agreement where no one is getting everything they want but essentially making the argument that everyone is getting something. what the president announced in the framework from the white house is far from complete because there were several parts not in the white house framework, things democrats have said they'd like to have in there. so the question of how it ultimately ends up wh

pete, the white house rejected donald trump's requests. so what happens now and will the national archives then turn over those documents to the january 6th committee? >> reporter: depends on what a federal judge says. there have been three letters from the white house now waving executive privilege. first sort nf response to a request from the committee that the archives be passed along. two other letters include the one last night directly responding to president trump's assertion of executive privilege and the white house saying "we don't agree." the former president asked a federal court to block this because without intervention by the court, the archivist will begin handing them over november 12th. a hearing november 4th evalue ace request. and then wanting to write legislation, needs to have a legislative purpose and has an identified one and secondly, he still has some level of executive privilege even though he's the former president. those are the things that the court will have to work out. this whole idea congress needs a legit
