-- the two bills we're talking about, the build back better bill, which we're going to be working on now, and this bill, are all designed to give ordinary people a fighting chance to begin to sort of level the playing field just a little bit, not punish anybody. i've long said it's never ever been a good bet to bet against the american people. never. and that -- what it really means is bet on the american people. give them a shot. give them a shot. that's what these plans do. they bet on average americans. they believe in america. they believe in the limitless capacity of the american people. if you look at the history of the journey of this nation, what becomes crystal clear -- not a joke -- given half a chance, the american people have never ever, ever, ever, ever, ever let their country down. we're about giving them a full chance this time. and when we do, there's going to be no stopping us. i truly believe that 50 years from now, folks are going to look back and say, “this was the moment, this was the period, this year and the next couple years, when america decided to win the

against a bill that hurts our country. and i've been very clear about that also. most importantly it hurts every american. let's work together, and i mean that. let's all work together on getting a sensible reconciliation package that strengthens our nation and makes us better and makes the world better. thank you all. let me say one thing. i'm not going to negotiate in public on this. i have been dealing with good faith and will continue to deal in good faith with all my colleagues on both sides. it's time to pass a bill and quit playing games.

save america, kill the bill. joining us now we have an all-star cast today, joining us missouri congressman jason smit in indiana congressman jim banks. jason smith, both of you thank you ever so much for coming on the show, this is probably the most fun all of us have ever had. but in all honesty, why would they put this bill back together with all of this stuff, the salt, the pain leave in immigration staff, knowing full well it ain't going to go to the senate. >> this is exactly what pelosi is trying to do she saw she couldn't pass with making senator manchin tapping into senator sinema, she tried to just get something like a hot potato off of her hands and put it over another chamber, knowing this is her cap and trade of 2009. the bill that they're trying to ram through right now without the congressional budget office scored is just so she can get in the other chamber and tell i got it done. she has a lot of problems in pelosi's power. i can tell you that right now. larry: jim banks, i know these processes h

we are also going to get immigration in this bill, something on immigration in this bill. very very important to us as a progressive caucus, and we will fight for that, and we will get those done, and i believe that the president is speaking out of the experience that he has had of negotiating and the conversations he's had with these senators. so i trust the president, he's going to deliver 51 votes, and i think we need to bring the temperature down a little bit. we intend to pass both bills through the house in the next couple of days, and we are really looking forward to allowing the american people to see how we fought for them and delivered so their lives could be better. >> you're going to vote for these two bills no matter what? >> as i said, we're finalizing the pieces on immigration, on prescription drug pricing and on the details of child care implementation but as soon as those get finalized, yes i believe, we'll have the votes to pass both the infrastructure bill and the build back better act through the house. >> congresswoman pramila jayapal, thank you. >> th

this was billed as a bipartisan infrastructure bill. up until recently when you say infrastructure most americans think bridges, roads, the things that you see during and they agree for the need to use tax dollars to replace these things and maintain them. but this bill brings in a whole new definition of what infrastructure is. joe biden on the campaign trail talked about redefining infrastructure to include human infrastructure. that basically opens the doors to all kinds of spending, which this bill does in part. it includes, for instance, $50 billion for climate change and drought mitigation. it includes another $65 billion for internet connections. if you start going through the hundreds of pages i'm sure you're going to find a lot of things that are eyebrow-racing. host: when you look at it differently if it had only stuck specifically to this idea of road and bridge spending? or was that off the table too? guest: no. you know what? we need to spend to maintain our roads and bridges. that is an expense that most americans are on b

so much for looking out for the little guy in this bill. this is a huge part of the bill. in fact, this is the most expensive provision in the bill, and that's up against all the other spending that the democrats want to do on new government programs and expanding government, the biggest expansion of government in decades. but included now in the bill, not only is that massive extension of spending on lots of crazy new ideas and trillions of dollars in new taxes that will be imposed upon the economy, but now there is a provision in there that will cut taxes, 80% of that benefit going to people making more than $200,000 a year, and cut taxes on a scale that makes this the largest, most expensive provision in the entire reckless tax-and-spending spree bill. that's what we're talking about with this particular provision, mr. president. so i just want to point that out because this is an evolving bill. we're seeing new language every day, new ideas every day, and some really horrible ideas that have come out in the last few weeks, some of which have gone away simply because th
