you don't need a introduction to mark and matt, but i'm gonna give you one anyway, mark bowden of course is the world famous author of so many amazing books not least of which of course was black hawk down, but so many others along the way including killing pablo way 1968 about the vietnam battle. what about the the killing of the song bin laden one of my favorites? it doesn't get as much attention, but it's so fantastic. is that his book on the iran hostage crisis went back and reconstructed that mark bowden is not only a but a role model for for people like me who have for years admired his work and he's also a really great guy to spend a trip with on a airplane to a long. far off the place which we did a few years back with a person who now happens be president united states. matthew teague is a fellow writer at the atlantic works at the same place as mark bowden and it's working for a number of other magazines written for esquire written from national geographic really interestingly was executive producer of our friend which premiered this last year. it's hard to imagine 2021's last
