ktvu tom baker has the story. livermore police and fire responded to a 911 call about eight friday evening about an injured unconscious girl in a car on a rural road near los pacientes college. there they found the body of a 15 year old richmond girl, some 50 miles from her home. police are investigating the death as a homicide. it's livermore's first reported homicide of the year. investigators say they have identified a person of interest but have not made an arrest so far. livermore police have decided not to release the victim's name pending further investigation, the alameda county coroner's office told me that it has identified her but is awaiting approval from livermore homicide detectives to release that name. in checking social media. there were a number of condolences posted involving a person named destiny . we reached out to them, but we were unable to make contact, including this homicide. there have been 18 murders in livermore since 2000 and six about one year. tom baker, ktvu fox two news. couple o

ktvu plus well. the bay area is marking earth day with a number of community service events this weekend. today, volunteers gathered at the shoreline at crown beach in alameda for the annual cleanup date. people of all ages came out to help pick up trash along the beach. similar events were held today in oakland and san francisco, including one at candlestick point. the city of walnut creek, celebrating earth day with a street fair and denim buyback. the event at broadway plaza is a favorite among locals . several vendors set up tents showcasing their goods. the nonprofit assistance league of diablo valley participated in the earth day celebration by holding a dead end drive. very cycling, you know, so it's an up cycle. it's using it again. denim is really hard to recycle. so rather than not taking care of, you know, once you're done with him, you're done with them. this will allow us to resell repurpose and do some good with it. the denim collected in today's drive will go to the assistance league o

amber lee ktvu, fox two news. and applebee's restaurant in antiochus closed for the time being after fire that investigators say they believe could have been started by an arsonist. those first calls came in early yesterday morning. contra costa fire protection district says someone had broken a window. and said part of the dining area on fire. the fire department is now looking into whether a passer by or perhaps a disgruntled customer or worker could be to blame. an accelerant was used to start the fire. um through a broken window, and they're currently following up on leads and looking through surveillance footage. even though the restaurant was spared from large flames, it remains closed because of extensive smoke damage. we received the statement this morning from applebee's corporate office, saying that they are working with local authorities on the investigation. happening today a forced in the sierras. finally reopening months after the cow door fire burned right through it. the eldorado national forest ha
