i'm rob nesbitt kron. 4 news. >> from online scammers, 2 car smash and grabs. it seems that criminals are find in any way they can to take your money these days. and that also includes a team that's some police departments say there is a definite spite in brazen overnight and attended thefts of atms. well, they're being ripped straight from the walls of buildings. here's a reason example. you're looking at important will wear. there have been 2 incidents in the last few weeks. police say on sunday someone used a stolen tractor to tear out a machine a month earlier these use a forklift which was stolen from a construction site. and in antioch sunday, someone tried and failed to steal an atm from a credit union. police say it is getting messier an ugly here. even when that these do not manage actually get any money, they leave behind an incredible amount of damage. >> i'm not exactly sure what the motive is at this point. other than people are resorting to desperate measures. typically when they robbed a bank, you know, they don't end up with a whole lot of money

we'll begin, though, with the very latest with kron four's rob nesbitt. he's been talking with police today. >> justine police say there's some connection between the 3 people arrested and the quay our family. they are releasing the names of the 3 suspects, but they are celebrating the fact that baby brandon was found safe and unharmed. san jose police say the public sharing this surveillance video showing a man walking away with a 3 month-old the baby carrier played a big role in tracking down the suspects. the man described as hispanic is one of the 3 people now in custody be brandon was being babysat by his grandmother at the time of the kidnapping. police say a woman who was with the grandmother is also in custody after she kept giving inconsistent stories to police. no information has been shared about the 3rd suspect. san jose assistant police chief paul joseph says that local authorities along with the fbi worked 20 plus hours on this case to find the baby as well as the 3 people responsible for his kidnapping. >> we followed every lead we had >> w

i'm rob nesbitt kron. 4 news. >>and in the east bay, thousands of teachers remain on the picket lines today protesting the planned closures of nearly a dozen schools in oakland unified the strike began early this morning at several school sites, including parker elementary school. one of the schools being shut down. some students and parents also joined the strike today as things stand 3 schools are set to close this year followed by 8 more next year. the district says the closures are necessary because of falling enrollment. but teachers and parents say the closures are devastating families of color. right now there's a save our schools block party happening at lake merritt. that will be followed by a march at one 30 to city hall. the mayor of gilroy is responding to some of the rumors around the end of the famous garlic festival. it was the city's largest most high-profile event. kron on's taylor bisacky spoke with mayor murray blakely who says there is more to this story. >>the backlash is just it's from the pa
